Abstract

The study aims to determine the characteristics of the distribution pattern of vegetation, and landscape perimeter TN southern slopes of Mount Merapi. The results showed that land cover by vegetation is 59.25% of the overall patch of landscape. Model agroforestry being developed in the third patch regions of southern slopes TNGM dominated by “tegalan” and homegarden pattern. Identification of agroforestry landscape models currently on ecological density range called Ecological Density accupying to 336.38 m/Ha. SDI (Shannon Diversity Index) by spatial model is of 0.98. While the actual SDI conditions based on groundcheck has a mean value of 1.7. Scoring agroforestry model based of ecological functions and economic values obtained optimum value the model agroforestry are field and homegarden as agroforestry practices. Abstract

Abstract

One of the wood industry activities in the forestry sector is the Eucalyptus sp industry at PT.Riau Mainstay Pulp and Paper Riau Province. The wood production process is used for pulpand has many factors in its productivity. One of them is in the planting process with weedcontrol problems, which use the herbicide with the active ingredient glyphosate. The use of the herbicide with the active ingredient glyphosate is not effective against all types of weeds. Therefore, it is necessary to know the right combination of weed control methods to control weeds for the expected results. Research is located in PT. RAPP, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The research design used was a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern that used 2 treatment factors in the form of Weeding Round consisting of Weeding Round 5 Over Due (late weeding) and Weeding Round 5 On Time (on time) and weed control methods consisting of chemical methods, the tripe combination method with chemical and thecombination lever method with chemical. The parameters observed were the type and amount of weed vegetation, the development of weed death, the percentage of weed death and the PQA value of weeding. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results that showed a significant effect were further tested using the LSD (Least Significant Difference) test. The results showed that there were 6 types of weeds found in the research area, namely Senduduk Bulu (Clidemia hirta), Senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum), Acacia mangium saplings (Acacia mangium), Lemidi Paku (Stenochlaena palustris), Grass (Poaceae) and Liana. The most dominant type of weed was Clidemia hirta with an Important Value Index of 127.72% and the weed with the smallest effect was liana with an Important Value Index of 0.88%. Based on the results of the analysis of the development of weed mortality, the percentage of weed mortality and the PQA value of weeding, the combination of jackhammer and chemical method is the most appropriate control method applied because it has an average PQA value of 100%.In the chemical method there are fern weeds that are difficult to die and in the combination tripe and chemical method there are fern weeds that grow new leaves on the 16th day of observation. Keywords: PQA Weeding; Weeds; Weed Control Methods

Abstract

The Nursery Department is the department responsible for ensuring the success of Acacia crassicarpa plants at an early stage by caring for and maintaining the quality and quantity of the seeds before planting them in the planting area. One of the disturbances that threatens the quality and quantity of seed production is the presence of Thrips sp. pest attacks. One of the Thrips sp. pest control techniques. with the application of insecticides with appropriate surfactants. Therefore, it is necessary to test various surfactants on Tenchu 20 SG insecticides which are appropriate in tackling Thrips sp. pest attacks. This study aims to determine the most appropriate surfactant in the Tenchu 20 SG insecticide in tackling Thrips sp. which attacks the mother plant Acacia crassicarpa. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with Least Significant Difference (LSD) follow-up test. The number of treatments in this study consisted of 5 treatments where each complete treatment with 3 repetitions used 72 sample plants so that the total sample plants used were 360 plants. The parameters observed were the incidence and severity of Thrips sp.. The results showed that there was a decrease in the incidence and severity of Thrips sp. the largest is the type of Ronstick surfactant. The incidence rate and severity of Thrips sp. before application, namely 100% while after application, the incidence rate of Thrips sp. that is equal to 66.67% and the severity of Thrips sp. that is equal to 38.43%.

Abstract

Macroinvertebrates from the EPT group (Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera) are known as sensitive bioindicators of aquatic pollution. This study aims to assess the ecological health of the Opak River in the Special Region of Yogyakarta using biomonitoring based on the presence and diversity of EPT taxa. Sampling was conducted at three observation sites—upstream (Leses Village), midstream (Bawuran), and downstream (Sriharjo)—using kick sampling and jabbing methods. The results showed that EPT were only found at the upstream station, represented by two families (Psychomyiidae and Polycentropodidae), while no EPT were detected at the midstream and downstream stations. Based on the Biotilik index and supporting parameters, the water quality in the upstream area was classified as moderately polluted, whereas the midstream and downstream areas were classified as heavily polluted. The decline in river quality correlates strongly with anthropogenic activities such as agriculture, livestock farming, industrial waste, and household sewage discharge. This study emphasizes the importance of river conservation and management through biological indicators to support the sustainability of freshwater ecosystems.
