Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a global health problem and is one of the top 10 causes of death globally. One of the main complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic ulcers. In Indonesia, the incidence of diabetic ulcers is reported to be around 12% and the risk of diabetic ulcers is around 55.4%. Incidence Infection is very common (40-80%) so it is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Microbes in diabetic foot wounds can be monomicrobial and polymicrobial. This study aims to determine the bacterial pattern in diabetic ulcers. This study was conducted in vitro on isolates of third grade diabetic ulcers from 15 samples. Antimicrobial tests were carried out by inoculation on PCA (Plate Count Agar) and MSA (Mannitol Salt Agar) media. The results showed that the bacterial patterns seen were Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus, Proteus Mirabilis, and Acinetobacter baumanii. In conclusion, the most common bacteria found in this study was Proteus mirabilis. Keywords: Diabetic ulcer, diabetes mellitus, bacterial pattern

Abstract

Adolescent girls are a vulnerable group for health problems, both general and reproductive. Lack of early detection and limited knowledge about reproductive health can increase the risk of anaemia, urinary tract infections, and reproductive disorders later in life. This community service activity aims to conduct basic health screenings and simple urine tests, as well as provide reproductive health education to adolescent girls. The activity methods included vital sign checks (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and body temperature) and simple urine tests (leukocytes, nitrite, urobilinogen, protein, pH, blood, specific gravity, bilirubin, and glucose). Reproductive health education was provided through interactive lectures, discussions, and a question-and-answer session with 10 key questions to assess participant understanding. The activity results indicated that most adolescent girls had normal health status, although some minor abnormalities such as elevated blood pressure and pulse rate were found. The reproductive health education session showed that the majority of participants were able to answer questions correctly, indicating an increased understanding of personal hygiene, preventing urinary tract infections, and the importance of maintaining reproductive health.
