Abstract

Sunscreen is a substance that can protect the skin from UV rays . One of the plants that can be used as a source of sunscreen is kaffir lime. Kaffir lime leaves contain secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, phenols, and tannins that can potentially be used as sunscreens. The purpose of this study was to determine the sunscreen potential of the ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves including the SPF value, the percent erythema transmission, and the percent transmission of pigmentation. Extraction of kaffir lime leaves using maceration method with 95% ethanol as solvent. Determination of sunscreen by UV-Vis spectrophotometry..The results show that at the highest concentration of 250 ppm ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves with an SPF value of 17.29±0.45 (ultra protection). The percent value of erythema transmission at the highest concentration of 250 ppm ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves with a %Te value (1,68±0.03)% (extra protection). The percent value of pigmentation transmission at the highest concentration of 250 ppm ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves with a %Tp value of (5,54±0.02)% (sunblock).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pupuk guano dan pemangkasan serta interaksinya terhadap hasil jagung manis (Zea mays saccharata L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2019 sejak persiapan sampai pengambilan data terakhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan analisis faktorial 4 x 3 dengan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Faktor pertama adalah pemangkasan daun (P) yang terdiri atas 4 taraf, yaitu p0 = tanpa perlakuan (kontrol), p1 = 1 helai daun, p2 = 2 helai daun, dan p3 = 3 helai daun. Faktor kedua adalah aplikasi pupuk guano yang terdiri atas 3 taraf yaitu g0 = tanpa pupuk (kontrol), g1 = 20 ton ha-1 (12 kg petak -1), dan g2 = 40 ton ha-1 (24 kg petak -1). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk guano dan pemangkasan daun serta interaksinya memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan. Hasil tertinggi rata-rata bobot tongkol berkelobot per hektar untuk perlakuan pupuk guano, pemangkasan, dan interaksinya berturut-turut yaitu pada perlakuan g0 (28,55 ton ha-1), p1 (29,83 ton ha-1), g0p0 dan g1p1 (32,40 ton ha-1). Sedangkan hasil terendah pada perlakuan g2 (26,62 ton ha-1), p0 dan p3 (26,23 ton ha-1), dan g1p3 (23,14 ton ha-1).
