Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of innovative and engaging learning media in the subject of Fishery Product Diversification, particularly on surimi material. Students often experience difficulties in understanding theoretical concepts and applying them in practice, which results in stagnant learning achievement. The aim of this research was to design an Android-based video learning media for the Fishery Product Diversification subject and to examine its effectiveness in improving student achievement. The research employed a Design-Based Research approach combined with a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The population consisted of two classes (XI and XII APHP) at SMKN 7 Kota Serang with a total of 60 students. Class XII APHP was assigned as the experimental group, which received treatment using Android-based video learning media, while Class XI APHP served as the control group and was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that there was no significant difference in student achievement between the experimental and control groups prior to treatment. However, after treatment, significant differences were observed, and student achievement in the experimental group improved considerably. These findings suggest that the development of Android-based video learning media is effective in enhancing learning achievement in the Fishery Product Diversification subject.
