Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) peningkatan kompetensi guru dalammelaksanakan pembelajaran melalui supervisi akademik oleh Kepala Sekolah, dan(2) efektivitas kegiatan supervisi akademik oleh Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkankompetensi guru melaksanakan peroses pembelajaran. Subyek dalam penelitian iniadalah guru SMA Negeri 1 Montong Gading Kabupaten Lombok Timur tahunpelajaran 2018– 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan bagi Guru SMAN 1 Montong Gadingyang terdiri dari 32 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus dalam semesterganjil tahun pelajaran 2018 -2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 6 pekan yaitubulan Agustus s.d Oktober 2018. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi danangket. Analisis data digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dapat disimpulkanbahwa (1) Pembinaan Kepala Sekolah dalam upaya peningkatan kompetensi gurumelalui supervisi akademik menunjukan peningkatan pada tiap-tiap siklus, (2) aktivitasdalam kegiatan pembinaan menunjukan bahwa guru dapat meningkatkankompetensinya, dan (3) aktivitas guru menunjukan bahwa kegiatan pembinaanmelalui supervisi akademik bermanfaat membantu guru meningkatkan kompetensipedogogiknya.Kata kunci: supervisi akademik, pembelajaranThis study aims to find out: (1) increasing teacher competency in implementinglearning through academic supervision by the Principal, and (2) the effectiveness ofacademic supervision activities by the Principal in improving teacher competence inimplementing the learning process. The subjects in this study were teachers ofMontong Gading State High School 1 East Lombok Regency 2018-2019. Thisresearch was conducted for teachers of SMAN 1 Montong Gading consisting of 32people. This study was conducted in 3 cycles in the odd semester of the school year2018 -1919. This research was conducted for 6 weeks, namely in August fromOctober 2018. Data was collected by observation and questionnaire techniques. Dataanalysis is used namely quantitative and qualitative. It can be concluded that (1)Guiding Principals in an effort to increase teacher competency through academicsupervision shows an increase in each cycle, (2) activities in coaching activities showthat teachers can improve their competence, and (3) teacher activities show thatcoaching activities through Academic supervision is useful to help teachers improvetheir pedogogical competencies.Keywords: academic supervision, learning
