Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the principal's managerial strategy in improving teacher performance at SD Negeri 060900 Medan Johor District in the 2017/2018 academic year, which became the problem, namely how the principal's managerial ability in improving teacher performance at SD Negeri 060900 Medan Johor District in the 2017/School Year 2018. The research method used is descriptive research, this research was carried out at SD Negeri 060900, Medan Johor District. The time of the research was carried out from January to March 2018 data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study showed that the strategy carried out by the principal in improving the performance of teachers at SD Negeri 060900, Medan Johor Subdistrict, could be seen from the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing and supervising the principal in improving teacher performance, namely through the principal's strategy in binding teacher performance. the teachers there are good, orderly and disciplined in carrying out their duties such as being absent, entering class, and the principal involving teachers in various education and training, activating the MGMP forum, providing the necessary facilities and carrying out supervision, encouraging/directing it turns out to be effective. The principal's managerial ability in improving teacher performance is seen from the aspects of planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the principals whose results have not been maximized. Managerial principals in improving teacher performance have been carried out as planned but the results have not been as expected
