Abstract

People who live in a poor culture which then leads them to become culturally poor is a tough challenge for da'wah. So to answer these challenges, it is necessary to elaborate the meaning of da'wah conceptually - philosophically and practically - implementatively to determine methods that are considered more relevant. And then it will be arranged to offer the right da'wah strategy within the framework of social engineering for the actions of social change - the culture of the cultural poor. Where the da'wah strategy with a philosophical-anthropological approach is applied applicatively - strategically to the five elements in da'wah, namely the subject (da'i), material (maddah), method (thariqah), media (washilah), and object (mad'u). This research is a type of library research and is qualitative-descriptive, where written data in the form of books, journals, documents, records of events as primary and secondary data sources. The analysis of this research uses the culture of poverty theory to analyze the cultural problems of the cultural poor as a recommendation and basis for preparing da'wah strategies in the cultural poor.

Abstract

Three models of community organizing (CO) are commonly used as paradigms: the conventional Alinsky’s, faith-based community organizing (FBCO), and the women-centered model. However, few studies on CO that focus on integrating these three models as a comprehensive lens of analysis. The women-centered community organizing paradigm lacks religio-spiritual complexity, which hinders the acceptance of women empowerment’s message among religious communities. This study aims to propose a practical community-organizing model by synthesizing three different community-organizing models carried out by religious-based women non-governmental organizations. This study combines a systemic literature review method and a qualitative approach to study women-based CSOs. The finding indicates that integrating three community organizing (CO) models effectively empowers women.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Barokah Kesambi tofu industry in Dukuh Kesambi, Pundenrejo Village, Tayu District, Pati Regency, in fostering community economic development and the resulting social dynamics. Using a field research approach with participant observation, unstructured interviews, and documentation, the findings reveal that the tofu industry significantly contributes to local economic growth through job creation, skill development, and the strengthening of social solidarity. The industry fosters social integration, workers’ adaptation to economic changes, and the transmission of work values that reinforce community cohesion. However, social stratification remains evident due to unequal access to resources between owners and workers. Therefore, participatory empowerment programs, human resource development, and economic diversification are essential to reduce inequality and promote sustainable local development.
