Abstract

Pesantren is a traditional educational environment where students live together and study under the guidance of a teacher who is better known as a kiai. This paper aims to add a special study related to impact of existence in Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Tambakberas, Jombang, on the Behavior or Attitude the Religious Ethic of Surrounding Community. This paper uses a qualitative research type. And is the result of field research, And is the result of field research, the use of Sociological and Anthropological approaches by understanding socio-religious practices, this writing uses the Theory of Use of Religious Theory as a Cultural System from Clifford Geertz, to see the culture of community around in pesantren. The Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang as one of subcultural institutions introduced the idea of village Development and a center for community learning activities with Islamic principles that deal directly with all kinds of community problems. The results of writing show that pesantren play a very effective role in empowering and transforming society. Islamic boarding schools were born to respond to the situation and social conditions of a society which is being faced with the collapse of moral foundations, through the transformation of the values offered.

Abstract

This study explores community perspectives on Sufi orders, focusing on the al-Shādziliyyah Order of Pondok Pesulukan Thoriqot Agung (PETA) in Tulungagung, East Java. The rapid growth of Sufi movements in Indonesia has given rise to various religious expressions, including strong emotional ties and loyalty to spiritual leaders (mūrshid). In this Order, the emergence of cult-like behavior has raised concerns about the limits of religious reverence and its alignment with Islamic teachings. Using a qualitative approach, this research examines the extent and nature of such behavior and whether it departs from Qur’anic and Hadith principles or remains within accepted Sufi piety. Georg Simmel’s theory of social interaction is employed to analyze how social bonding and charismatic authority contribute to excessive veneration. Data were collected through fieldwork, semi-structured interviews, and literature review. The findings show a range of attitudes among followers, from sincere devotion to problematic loyalty, particularly the belief in the mūrshid’s spiritual infallibility. These patterns are reinforced through ritual practices, group dynamics, and the leader’s perceived charisma. This study contributes to the discourse on contemporary Sufism in Indonesia by highlighting the sociological mechanisms that shape religious authority and group cohesion. It calls for critical reflection within Sufi Order communities to maintain a balance between spiritual guidance and theological boundaries.

Abstract

Moderasi adalah Sesuatu apapun itu yang berada di tengah, dalam posisi antara dua hal, cara beragama yang baik adalah dengan bersikap moderat (jalan tengah). Dengan moderasi beragama, seseorang akan terhindar dari sikap yang ekstrem dan tidak fanatik atau berlebih-lebihan saat menjalani ajaran agamanya. dalam Islam ada Istilah yang disebut dengan Al-Wasathiyyah Islamiyyah. Moderasi beragama merupakan bagian integral dari strategi bangsa dalam merajut dan merawat keberagaman di Indonesia. Jenis dan Pendekatan Penelitian Dalam penulisan artikel ini, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian yang terdiri dari Jenis Penelitian studi kepustakaan (Lybrary Research). Disamping Itu Penulis Juga Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif (Qualitative Research). Dengan Pendekatan Penelitian Sosio-Historis yang juga meliputi pendekatan Sejarah Intelektual. Epistemologi Pengilmuan Islam Kuntowijoyo, Epistemologi Intergratif-Interkoneksi M. Amin Abdullah, dan Epistemologi postrukrualisme objektif Abid Al-Jabiri sangat berpengaruh dan menjadi bangunan atas keilmuan Islam terhadap Moderasi Beragama di Indonesia, Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa Prinsipnya ialah adil dan seimbang. ketiga Tokoh tersebut telah berhasil menjadi Inspirasi atas moderasi beragama dan diperlukan. Pondasi penting atas penelaahan ketiga gagasan Tokoh tersebut dalam usaha Integrasi-Interkoneksi Keilmuan Islam terhadap konsep Moderasi Beragama di Indonesia yang kemudian menunjukkan bahwa jati diri bangsa yang sangat agamis, dengan karakternya yang Sopan, santun, toleran, dan mampu hidup berdampingan dengan keragaman

Abstract

 Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perspektif pemikiran dan perjuangan KH. Abdul Wahab Hasbullah tentang nilai-nilai pluralitas yang di bingkai oleh semangat nasionalisme dan memaparkan gagasan Hubbul wathan minal Iman sebagai Pondasi penting bagi terciptanya Toleransi antar umat beragama dan persatuan Nasional, hasil dari penulisan ini menjelaskan mengenai KH. Abdul Wahab Hasbullah yang tidak hanya sekadar bapak dan pendiri NU, organisasi Islam terbesar di Indonesia, melainkan pencetus gagasan hubbul wathan minal iman yang lalu menjadi salah satu tokoh yang berhasil mempersatukan dan menemukan titik temu antara Islam dan nasionalisme yang secara eksplisit pertemuan itu juga menjadi landasan besar bagi terciptanya pluralitas yaitu kerukunan dan toleransi umat beragamaThe purpose of writing this paper is to find out how the perspective of thoughts and struggles KH. Abdul Wahab Hasbullah about plurality values framed by the spirit of nationalism and explained the idea of Hubbul wathan minal Iman as an important foundation for the creation of tolerance between religious communities and national unity, the results of this paper explain KH. Abdul Wahab Hasbullah who not only offered the father and founder of NU, the largest Islamic mass organization in Indonesia, but also the originator of the idea of hubbul wathan minal iman who later became one of the figures who succeeded in uniting and finding a meeting.  between Islam and nationalism, which explicitly becomes a big foundation for the creation of plurality, namely harmony and tolerance of religious communities.
