Abstract

The common type-A of Operating Characteristics (OC) curve measures the consumer’s risk through the incoming quality. However, the proportion of defective can alter after the sampling process; hence, the measure of consumer’s risk is better described by the outgoing quality or lot quality of post sampling inspection. A modified OC curve is developed based on the outgoing quality for two applicable cases; returned samples to the lot and non-returned or destructive samples. This research aims to develop the algorithm and evaluate the alternative acceptance sampling plan for isolated lots by outgoing percent defective. For the returned samples, the acceptance sampling requires less sample than that based on the common OC-curve and is seen as an opportunity for sampling size reduction. The number of reduced samples varies depending on the input parameters: Acceptance Quality Level (AQL), Rejectable Quality Limit (RQL), producer’s risk (α), consumer’s risk (β), and lot size (N). For the non-returned sample, more sample size (n) is required, even more than that of using the Binomial distribution’s sample size, which has been considered conservative.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to overcome problems that occur in the garment industry, the company has tried to develop an agile system to increase productivity in this industry. The garment company that focusses on the production of woven bottoms and outerwear, noted that women's woven bottoms products have the highest demand throughout 2022. However, the company was unable to meet Brand demand of 3.5%. Production data shows defects in products, low quality raw materials, and unstable production processes. A modified Value Stream Mapping (VSM) methodology is use to consider all aspects of production. The results of traditional VSM and Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) analysis include current state and future state, identification of value added and non-value-added elements during the production process, as well as setting priorities to reduce waste in the production process, especially in inventory (19%), defective parts (17%), and transportation (15%). Based on the VALSAT matrix, Process Activity Mapping (33.5%), Supply Chain Response Matrix (21.6%), and Demand Amplification Mapping (15.3%) were obtained. The findings of this research are Pilot Run, which succeeded in becoming an agile and reliable system during the production process. Through the application of the methodology combined with VSM the results have improved compared to the traditional VSM method. This proves that this method is effective in overcoming takt time, cycle time, man power, and value-added ratio. Limitations of this research were also discussed, including that this research only focused on women's woven bottom products only on the production workflow. Kata Kunci: Agile System, Enhance Productivity, Garment Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of digital systems to reduce import process costs, increase the percentage of national direct deliveries from ports to consumers, and analyze the impact of proposed improvement measures. The research employs a single case study approach with data collected through observation, document analysis, and quantitative data collection from one of the biggest plastic resin distribution companies in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using the CIMO (Context-Intervention-Mechanism-Outcome) logic to understand the context and impact of the interventions implemented. The findings reveal that the application of digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and cloud-based management systems with real-time container tracking digital applications can optimize supply chain processes and sustainability. There was a notable reduction in the national average container storage costs at ports from $2.4/Ton to $1.8/Ton and an increase in the average percentage of national direct deliveries from ports to consumers from 17.3% to 22.0% before and after the implementation of the container tracking system. These results confirm that adopting digital technologies in plastic resin distribution companies not only improves operational efficiency, provides a competitive advantage in the market but also reduces carbon emission by using single trip directly to customers. Companies are advised to enhance employee training related to new technologies and adopt integrated systems within supply chain processes. Furthermore, continuous innovation using technologies such as artificial intelligence is essential for maintaining industry competitiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the corporate governance practices on State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and to find out their impacts on the operating performance of the firms. This study finds out the substantial improvements of the quality of corporate governance practices in public-listed Indonesian SOEs. Total corporate governance (CG) compliance score and each component score show an upward trend improvement. With regard to the relationship between CG compliance and operating performance, as represented by Return on Assets, Net Profit Margin, and Assets Turnover, this study finds out that there is a direct relationship between the governance quality and operating performance. This positive relationship is cpused by the reduction of the operating cost and not coused by the increase of sales or the better use of assets.
