Abstract

Water apple (Syzygium aqueum) is usually cultivated as home garden plant for its edible fruit. Fruit industry development program needs high quality and sufficient quantity seedling. However, their propagation is often neglected. For vegetative propagation, cutting is one preferred alternative for its simplicity and can be easily practiced. A good planting medium is a medium that provide sufficient nutrients and water for the plant growing process. Various types of media can be used, such as charcoal husk, soil, sand, sawdust, cocopeat, and zeolite. This study was conducted using a Random Design Group (RAK) factorial with 2 factors: the position of the cuttings material with levels and planting media with 3 levels of treatment, with 3 times replication. Results show that: 1. The treatment of the position of the lower stem cuttings material (B3) affected all parameters except emerging shoots, 2. The treatment of husk charcoal planting media (M2) affected all parameters and 3. There was no interaction between the position of the cuttings (B) and planting media (M) against the growth of water guava cuttings (Syzygium aqueum).Key Words : Water Apple, Cutting, Media Plant

Abstract

Shallots are an important part of cooking spices, both for household cooking, restaurants and the food industry. Apart from that, shallots can also be used as herbal medicine and shallots (Allium ascalonicum) are a seasonal horticultural plant that has high economic value. Bokashi fertilizer is an alternative for implementing organic agricultural technology that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. Bokashi has good prospects for being used as organic fertilizer because it has quite high nutrient content. This research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 2 factors, namely 3 types of varieties (V) and 2 types of solid bokhasi (B) 1 control in 3 replication groups. If the F test results show a real effect, the analysis continues with the BNT test at the 5% level. The conclusions of this research are: 1. Types of varieties have a significant effect on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) and this occurs in the parameters of plant height and number of leaves. 2. The type of bokashi has a significant effect on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.) and this occurs in the parameters of plant height and number of leaves. 3. The interaction of varieties and types of Bokashi has a real influence on the growth and yield of shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L.), namely on V3B0 (tuk-tuk varieties and without bokashi), namely on plant height parameters and V1B0 (sanren varieties and without bokashi) namely on the parameter of the number of leaves resulting from tubers. Keywords: Types of Onion Varieties, and Types of Goat Solid Bokhasi and Chicken Solid Bokhasi
