Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the management of the English course program at the BBC Stabat institution, to describe and interpret the factors that influence the management of the English course program at the BBC Stabat course institution. This study uses a qualitative research method. The subjects of this study were the head of the institution, the English coordinator, the English tutor, and one of the English course students at the BBC Stabat English course. Determination of subjects was carried out using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The techniques used in data analysis are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The technique used to explain the validity of the data is by using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The management of the English course program carried out by the BBC Stabat English course goes through several stages, namely planning which is carried out by planning administration and learning programs; organizing by creating an organizational structure and division of labor; implementing an English course program through a staged test of ability tests to increase the level of the student's ability class; supervision through meetings and accountability reports and evaluating the program. (2) Supporting factors are: (a) Quality of teaching; (b) Flexibility in learning; (c) Strong management support; (d) Effective team communication. (3) Inhibiting factors that affect management are disruption of technological infrastructure and differences in student characteristics.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the problems of implementing the non-formal education curriculum at LKP Pistar and compare it with the national LKP curriculum. This research was conducted by going directly to the Pistar Training Course Institute (LKP) which is located at Jalan Setia No. 19 Tanjung Gusta Village, Medan Helvetia District, Medan City, North Sumatra 20125. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observations, interviews, documentation studies and literature studies. Based on the results of observations through direct observations and interviews with LKP Pistar, several problems were obtained in the implementation of the non-formal education curriculum at LKP Pistar, namely, firstly, the author did not find a curriculum, but there was only a syllabus, secondly based on the results of the research that the author did. do it at the English language course institution, that LKP Pistar does not provide a curriculum or syllabus or some kind of Learning Process Plan (RPP), and tutors are asked to make their own RPP, the three implementations of the non-formal education curriculum at LKP Pistar have not been implemented properly as the LKP curriculum that has been determined nationally. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis permasalahan implementasi kurikulum pendidikan non- formal di LKP Pistar dan membandingkannya dengan kurikulum LKP secara nasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan terjun langsung ke Lembaga Kursus Pelatihan (LKP) Pistar yang beralamat di Jalan Setia No. 19 Kelurahan Tanjung Gusta, Kecamatan Medan Helvetia, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara 20125. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan (observasi), wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil observasi melalui kegiatan pengamatan dan wawancara secara langsung ke LKP Pistar, maka diperoleh beberapa permasalahan pada implementasi kurikulum pendidikan non-formal di LKP Pistar tersebut, yaitu pertama penulis tidak menemukan adanya kurikulum, namun yang ada hanyalah silabus, kedua berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan di lembaga kursus bahasa inggris tersebu, bahwasanya pihak LKP Pistar tidak memberikan kurikulum atau silabus atau semacam Rencana Proses Pembelajaran (RPP), dan para tutor diminta untuk membuat RPP sendiri, ketiga implementasi kurikulum pendidikan non-formal di LKP Pistar ini belum terlaksana dengan baik sebagaimana mestinya kurikulum LKP yang sudah ditentukan secara nasional.
