Abstract

The condition of Hulu Sungai Utara Regency as an area dominated by wetland can be an interesting potential that is expected to attract tourists to visit. One of the areas that can be developed into a wetland tourism area is Banyu Hirang Village. But unfortunately, the utilization of the village area as a recreational tourist destination based on wetland is still lacking. The potential of the community in producing UMKM products in the form of woven handicrafts purun and water hyacinth also needs to be appreciated so that it can be one of the centers of woven handicrafts in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. The design of this wetland tourist attraction aims to preserve and introduce to tourists about the potential and utilization of natural resources in wetland in helping the economy of the community. The method of problem solving in this design focuses on the approach of 3 aspects of wetland contextual architecture, namely visual, activity and environment with 5 principles of ecotourism development, namely conservation, knowledge, tourism, community participation, and economy. The relationship between the contextual aspects of wetland and the principle of ecotourism produces sustainable tourist areas with wetland environments, where the time order is divided into several zones, namely reception zones, service zones, transition zones, educational zones, recreation zones, culinary zones and relaxing zones. Planning each zone is expected to create a special character of wetland that can provide harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

Abstract

Banjarbaru has the opportunity to develop local potential in the field of art, especially works of fine art in line with the era of globalization so that there needs to be a container of interest as well as interactive public education facilities that can generate curiosity and mindfulness to provide new experiences in the meaning of art for the general public. Therefore, the Public Art Space in Banjarbaru is designed as a solution to the architectural problems raised to meet these needs. The design of Public Art Space in Banjarbaru applies the concept of mindfulness which refers to 3 design elements namely sequential, lighting, and pause then completed by the approach of Expressionist Architecture through the processing of architecture elements, namely the shape of space and the form of circulation. The design idea aims to realize a functional design for its users while making the Public Art Space in Banjarbaru an expressive unit in implementing the process of meaning art related to the value of fine art from local artists both individually and collectively presented to the general public.

Abstract

Orchids are one of the most popular plants among the public because most of the orchids grow in tropical countries like Indonesia. In Indonesia, there are around 5,000 species of orchids spread across several provinces and 38 percent of them are in Kalimantan. There are several types of natural orchids that are becoming rare due to the rampant exploitation of these flowers, so that several types of orchids are starting to become endangered. Therefore, the conservation of orchid plants has recently begun to be increased, the government of South Kalimantan is one of those who are intensively conserving orchids with the aim that existing orchid species do not become extinct. However, the challenge is how to get the whole community involved in this conservation, not just a group of related people. On the other hand, orchids have a special attraction in the eyes of the public, with their attractiveness, the Orchid Recreation Park has the potential to be used as a recreation area that provides open education to all people so that they can help preserve the orchids themselves. The concept of metaphorical architecture was also chosen as the design concept for this Recreation Park with the design principle that it is hoped that the design of this Recreation Park will attract more visitors.

Abstract

Ecological disasters such as landslides and floods caused by natural exploitation in the Meratus Mountains in the form of mining and oil palm plantations should be able to foster a sense of environmental concern for the community to preserve and restore damaged natural conditions. Facilitating children in rural areas with natural schools that introduce the environment to children to develop sensitivity to the environment from an early age. The low number of schools in Loksado Sub-District is also the background to the design of a natural elementary school in the interior of the Loksado Meratus Mountains. This is very important to facilitate the education of rural communities.

Abstract

Fitness centers have the impression of being too manly because the majority of users are men, which makes women dominated, resulting in discomfort when doing fitness activities in public places where people of the opposite sex are mixed up. There is a need for a fitness center specifically for women that can accommodate women's fitness activities and have a woman's identity and image. To realize this, the design concept applied is to use a metaphorical approach that adopts women as the metaphorical object. The embodiment of the metaphor used is to adopt the shape of a flower basket, which is a place that can be used to collect and care for various types of flowers. This is in line with the realization of 'Woman healthy space' where women are often metaphorized as 'flowers' and then the flower basket becomes a 'container', a fitness center which becomes a gathering place for women to do fitness activities to be healthy.

Abstract

Public Health Facility is a first-level health facility, the development of which is the fulfillment of public health insurance in Indonesia. Public Health Facility that was originally managed by the central government underwent decentralization so that each region could manage Public Health Facility in their respective areas; this had an impact on the uneven quality and quantity of the workforce and infrastructure of Public Health Facility in Indonesia. The lack of quality of health centers will complicate health provision in certain areas. Global health problems, namely the Covid-19 pandemic, exacerbate the performance of Public Health Facilities which tend not to be ready to cope with changing conditions; resulting in a decrease in visitors and even some Public Health Facilities reducing their operational time. The efforts of countries in the world and the World Health Organization are to publish protocols for the prevention, detection and handling of Covid-19; and the use of technology is one of the solutions that facilitate activities during a pandemic. Appropriate technology methods with criteria according to Teartisup can be applied to the design of Public Health Facility so that health provision is guaranteed to be easy and safe, especially during a pandemic.

Abstract

The water tourism sector in Banjar Regency is relatively small even though the geographic potential in the Banjar Regency area is very supportive for the development of water tourism. One of them is the Riam Kanan Reservoir area in Aranio District, Banjar Regency. Riam Kanan Reservoir has vast water potential and can be developed as a tourist destination. The existence of floating net cages (KJA) in this reservoir can also be a tourist attraction. Apart from that, another potential is the existence of Pine Island ecotourism which is currently not optimal due to constraints on the slow development of tourist areas. This writing aims to solve problems and respond to the potential that exists in the Riam Kanan Reservoir by preparing a concept for designing water tourism, namely mina wisata. The aim of designing this tourist attraction is to maximize the potential of the Riam Kanan Reservoir as a water tourism area and develop floating net cages (KJA) as well as interacting with the Pine Island Ecotourism area around the site. The step to achieve the goal is with a tourism design concept that emphasizes water tourism activities and floating net cage (KJA) areas as education and the principle of mutual support with Pine Island Ecotourism through a symbiotic architectural approach. The result is the development of tourist facilities towards the education and tourism sectors through the Edu-Tourism concept as a form of responding to problems in the design of mina wisata.

Abstract

Currently, urban farming is increasingly developing because the problem of decreasing agricultural land in urban areas is increasing, which can affect urban food security. This problem encourages people to utilize and optimize the potential of surrounding resources to cultivate food and livestock on limited land and abandoned urban areas to the fullest. In recent years, urban farming has also increasingly developed in the city of Banjarbaru, marked by the many urban farming programs created by the Banjarbaru city government as well as the emergence of urban farming communities and business in Banjarbaru. However, the problem for the community is that there is no place for them to gather and spread information and education regarding the importance of urban farming to citizens. Therefore, it is necessary to design an urban farming educational park in Banjarbaru by implementing biophilic patterns by Terrapin Bright Green into the design so that users, the built environment and nature are connected and build positive interactions in the area.
