Abstract

As the number of vehicles is increasing, the air quality in the environment becomes more polluted. This problem happens due to concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) is high in the air and it can lead to various health issues. The air quality meter is an important device to measure the concentration of CO2 in the air. In this study, an air quality monitoring system is built using Arduino Nano along with IoT technology to measure parameters such as CO2, temperature, humidity, and heat index. FreeRTOS is used to run multiple tasks consisting of display and transmit concurrently. MQ135 and DHT22 are used to sense CO2, temperature, humidity, and heat index respectively. Data will be sent periodically to a web server using ESP8266 Wi-Fi module through secure HTTPS POST protocol. On the back-end side, a web server is employed to receive sensor parameters as well as to build a website application securely by which users can monitor it remotely. The system was tested to monitor CO2 in 4 different locations of Pangkal Pinang city, Indonesia. The results showed that the averages of CO2 concentration in Housing Indo Graha, Morning Market, Dea Lova Park, and Pasir Padi Beach are 411.37 ppm, 485.97 ppm, 416.45 ppm, and 444.43 ppm respectively. Based upon the results, public place i.e. Pasir Padi Beach has higher CO2 concentration meanwhile public place with organic waste i.e. Morning Market has the highest CO2 concentration.

Abstract

Dalam rangkaian elektronika diperlukan catu daya yang memiliki keluaran yang efisien. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan catu daya yang optimal yaitu berupa catu daya digital. Salah satu bagian utama catu daya digital yaitu rangkaian pengendali. Rangkaian pengendali merupakan rangkaian pensaklaran yang memerlukan masukan digital dari osilator dan menghasilkan gelombang kotak dengan memanfaatkan sirkuit terpadu NE555. Pada penelitian ini, dirancang osilator menggunakan NE555 dengan mode operasi astable sehingga gelombang kotak periodiknya dapat ditentukan oleh nilai frekuensi. Pengujian dilakukan pada frekuensi 20-40 kHz, dan menghasilkan rata-rata siklus kerja 50,01%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa rancangan osilator ini dapat digunakan untuk sistem pensaklaran catu daya digital.

Abstract

Visible Light Communication (VLC), yang berkomunikasi melalui cahaya tampak, merupakan teknologi potensial di era Industri 5.0. Penggunaan VLC berkecepatan tinggi dapat diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan light-emitting diode (LED). Metode modulasi yang sesuai sangat penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sistem VLC. Asynchronous Pulse Position Modulation (APPM) diusulkan dalam paper ini. Metode ini merupakan pengembangan dari teknik modulasi Pulse Position Modulation (PPM). Pengujian dilakukan dalam 2 kondisi yaitu kondisi gelap (Lux = 0) dan kondisi terang dengan cahaya dari luar ruangan (Luv = 304). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa didapatkan Vp dan frekuensi output lebih baik dalam kondisi gelap dan semakin jauh jarak transmisi, maka hasil yang didapatkan lebih rendah.

Abstract

The Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a vital maritime technology that enhances navigation safety and vessel tracking. This system is integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT) for real-time data transmission. However, due to multiple tasks being employed, the system latency increases. To address this problem, this study proposes an optimized task-scheduling approach using a Round-robin algorithm with an additional task-reshuffling mechanism. The proposed method is implemented on an ESP32 microcontroller, enabling real-time processing of AIS messages while minimizing latency and energy consumption. Experimental results demonstrate that the hybrid Round-robin and Shuffling method achieves the lowest average transmission time of 28.736 seconds, outperforming traditional Priority and standard Round-robin scheduling approaches. The findings of this study contribute to enhancing real-time processing capabilities in embedded vessel tracking systems. Following this, future research should focus on addressing transient fluctuations using adaptive scheduling techniques.

Abstract

Corn is one of the strategic commodities in food fulfillment in Indonesia. Despite being one of the strategic commodities for food security, corn production is still far from meeting total consumption. One of the main factors for increasing yield is the availability of nutrients, especially nitrogen. This research aims to determine the optimal nitrogen percentage to maximise corn production using genetic algorithm. Simulations were conducted using the genetic algorithm method with parameters such as population size, maximum number of generations, mutation rate, as well as Bayesian approach for the crossover method and a Gaussian distribution for mutation. The results showed that the more generations used, the better the accuracy of the curve approach to the actual data, with an optimal nitrogen value of 1.506% in the 500th generation and a production yield of 227,718 bu/ac or 15.325 ton/ha.

Abstract

ECG devices have been widely utilized by medical experts for cardiac health detection. It generates an analog signal that has intrinsic characteristics represented by PQRST waves. Each wave is useful for diagnostic purposes. However, ECG signal is prone to noise, particularly EMG noise. This noise occurs as a result of muscle contraction or sudden body movement of a subject. Several studies have been proposed to suppress the EMG noise on ECG. However, the complexity of an algorithm is a challenging task to be solved. Considering this problem, this research aims to suppress EMG noise using a low-complexity algorithm. To achieve this objective, a method of Butterworth bandpass filter DF-II has been proposed. The findings demonstrate that the proposed method improves SNR and signal power by 0.498dB and 0.006dBm/Hz respectively. It also demonstrates the capability to perform efficiently on a microcontroller unit.

Abstract

Lokalisasi adalah salah satu kompon penting dalam navigasi robot bergerak. Tugas tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan data odometri LIDAR dan sensor unit pengukuran inersia (IMU). Odometri lidar memberikan informasi tentang gerak berbasis cahaya, sedangkan IMU memberikan data tentang percepatan dan kecepatan sudut. Keduanya mempunyai kelebihan, namun juga mempunyai kelemahan. Akumulasi kesalahan odometri LiDAR dan penyimpangan IMU seiring waktu sering terjadi pada odometri yang berbasis pada dua sensor tersebut. Penelitian ini mencoba mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan mengembangkan metode fusi sensor dengan mengntegrasi data odometri LIDAR dan IMU bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akurasi dan keandalan lokalisasi robot. Penelitian meliputi kalibrasi sensor, pemrosesan data, dan evaluasi kinerja pendekatan fusi yang diusulkan. Dengan memanfaatkan literatur terbaru tentang pengembangan teknologi sensor dan strategi fusi sensor, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang cara meningkatkan navigasi robot bergerak dalam berbagai situasi. Kami berharap hasil penelitian ini dapat membuka jalan bagi pengembangan robot bergerak yang lebih akurat dan andal, terutama ketika melakukan pergerakan pada lingkungan yang kompleks.
