Abstract

Tablet dosage form is one of the most widely used pharmaceutical. Acetyl salicylic acid is an anti inflammatory medicine, active substance not heat resistant. Starch as a binder of materials in the manufacture of tablets are hydrophilic because amylopectin starch can absorb most of the water. This study aims to determine the variation of the concentration of starch banana heart of stone as the material of binder on physico-chemical properties acid tablets acetyl salicylic meet the requirements of the Indonesian Pharmacopoeia. Based on the explanation above, the research conducted to make four concentration of the starch of banana, i.e. FI (5%), FII (10%), FIII (12.5%) and FIV (15%). From the results evaluation obtained include : flow time, steep angle, indication index, uniformity of weight, hardness, fragility and crumbling time of tablets, all formulas have been qualified by Pharmacopoeia Indonesia. Formulation IV after investigation had better tablet quality.

Abstract

Traditional medicinal plants have the potential for health maintenance and alternative medicine as well as increasing the competitiveness of the national economy because Indonesia is one of the countries rich in biodiversity. This research was conducted in March-June 2021 in Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, 3 different villages that are part of the Parmonangan sub-district, namely, Aekraja Village, Hutatinggi Village, Sisordak Village. The objectives to be achieved are to find out how to use medicinal plants. The research method used includes selecting respondents for traditional healers, ethnobotanical surveys including field surveys, interviews and sampling of medicinal plants and preparing herbarium specimens. The results obtained were then analyzed descriptively by calculating the index values ??of U, RFC and RI. Where the largest UV results are UV analysis, the Zingiber officinale value is found to have a value (the largest UV is 0.4), and the highest RFC use values ??include: Zingiber Offiicinale (RFC 0.4), and the highest Relative Impotance values ??include: Zingiber Offiicinale (RFC 0.67) then Based on the results of bioactivity observations; It can be seen that the use of Zingiber officinale contains glucan chemical and polygalacturonan with biactivity as an antitussive. This traditional utility is attempted to be linked to reports from previous scientific studies published electronically such as PubMed, Google Scholar, PubChem, and ScienceDirect

Abstract

Stroke is disease or functional disorder of the brain in the form of nerve paralysis (neurological deficit) due to obstruction of blood flow to the brain. One of the therapies given to stroke patients is by giving neuroprotectant drugs, namely citicoline injection and piracetam injection. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of therapy and cost effectiveness of stroke patients' therapy between the use of alternative citicoline injection and injection piracetam in a pharmacoeconomic manner with a Cost Effectiveness approach in RSU Imelda Pekerja Indonesia Medan. This study uses a retrospective Cohort Study method. The sample of this study consisted of 44 patients, namely 22 patients treated with citicoline injection and 22 patients treated with piracetam injection. The results of this study were obtained from the comparison of ACER (Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio) and ICER (Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio) values. The ACER value of citicoline injection is Rp. 11.949.- less than the ACER value of piracetam Rp. 15.474.- so that the Cost Effective ACER value which has the lowest ACER value is citicoline injection. The ICER value of the comparison of citicoline injection and injection piracetam is Rp. -32.661.- . which means the ICER result is negative or getting smaller, it is considered more effective and cheaper, in accordance with quadrant II the plant's cost-effectiveness decreases so that the neuroprotectant drug class therapy with the most Cost Effectiveness of stroke patients in RSU Imelda Pekerja Indonesian Medan is citicoline injection.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis that can attack various organs, especially the lungs. Treatments that can be done in patients with pulmonary TB are treatments such as OAT (anti-tuberculosis drugs) which can be divided into single OAT and anti-tuberculosis drugs. combination drugs (drugs containing two or more active ingredients combined in one dosage form while maintaining the appropriate dose). This study aims to find out which treatment is more effective and cost-effective for pulmonary TB patients at Imelda Indonesian Workers Hospital in Medan. This research is a cohort study with snowball sampling technique. The conclusion of this study is that the ACER value of combination therapy is 75,490, and the ACER value of OAT is 92.130. The ICER value from the comparison of combination therapy and OAT was -5.762.

Abstract

Currently, bananas can be processed and used to produce starch. Research results show that bananas have a lot of nutrients per 100 grams. There is 99 kcal of energy, 1.2 grams of protein, 0.2 grams of fat, 93% carbohydrates, 2.93% water (Shekhara Naik R et al., 2023). Because of their carbohydrate content, bananas can be made into starch. These bananas will be used as the main ingredient to make banana starch. This starch can be used in the pharmaceutical industry as an additional ingredient for making tablets because of its properties as a binder, disintegrant and filler. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the concentration of Singali-Ngali banana starch (Musa Acuminata Colla) as a binding agent in granule evaluation tests that meet the requirements of the VI edition of the Pharmacopoeia. This research method is included in quantitative experimental research, which is carried out in the laboratory. The stages of this research started from sample preparation, making banana starch, characteristics test, carbohydrate test, pre-formulation, granule evaluation test and paracetamol tablet evaluation test from singali ngali banana binder. The results obtained from the Singali Ngali banana binder can have a positive influence with the p value 0,05 at a CL value of 95% From the conclusion, all formulas meet the requirements as binders
