Abstract

Abstract: This research tests the effect of information technology on academic performance for a sample of advanced accounting class. Population of this research are all of students at fifth semester from accounting education department at IKIP PGRI Madiun. In this study, sample consist of 126 students from advanced accounting class. Hypothesis testing of this research uses multiple regression analysis. Classical assumption test and test of validity and reliability also use in this research. The results show that: dummy variable of computer ownership don’t have an affects on student academic performance; capability student on office aplication usage positively affects on student academic performance; Internet usage positively affects on student academic performance; IT usage by lecture don’t have an  affects on student academic performance. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh teknologi informasi terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa kelas akuntansi keuangan lanjutan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester lima program studi pendidikan akuntansi IKIP PGRI Madiun. Jumlah sampel 126 mahasiswa. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diuji dengan regresi linier berganda dengan sebelumnya dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas dan uji asumsi klasik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemilikan komputer dan penggunaan IT oleh dosen tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa; kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi office dan penggunaan internet berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi akademik mahasiswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research tests the determinant academic performance for a sample of fundamental business class. The determinant consist degree of class participation, gender, studying time and part time work as predictor of academic performance. Population of this research is all of new student at first semester from accounting education department at IKIP PGRI Madiun. In this study, sample consist 109 students from three fundamental business class. Hypothesis test of this research uses multiple regression analysis. Classical assumption test and test of normality also use in this research. The results show that: class participation positively affects on student academic performance; gender negatively affects on student academic performance; studying time had no affects on student academic performance; part time work had no affects on student academic performance.   Keywords: class participation, gender, studying time, part time work, student performance.
