Abstract

The Corona Virus Disease-2019 (covid-19) pandemic has resulted in many changes to the service order as a hospital entrance. Midwives must adjust services to patients so as to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of midwives in providing hospital services during the adaptation period to new habits at the Dolok Sanggul Hospital. This research is an exploratory qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The population in this study were all midwives at the Dolok Sanggul Hospital. The technique of taking participants was done by purposive sampling as many as 6 participants. Data collection using interviews. The data were analyzed using the trial version of Nvivo 12 software. The results of this study obtained 7 (seven) , namely 1) Implementing infection prevention and control procedures, 2) Implementing work safety and safety procedures, 3) Implementing 3M procedures, 4) Anticipating the transmission of covid-19, 5) Providing services to Covid-19 patients. 19 and non-covid-19, 6) Limiting access to hospitals, 7) Utilizing information technology for health service innovation. It is recommended that midwives continue to carry out infection control and prevention procedures, occupational safety and health as well as 3M procedures (washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance) to anticipate the transmission of COVID-19.

Abstract

Disaster is an event or series of events that threaten and disrupt people's lives and livelihoods caused by both natural and/or non-natural factors. Medan North Sumatera is one of the regions in Indonesia with a potential disaster that has the worst impact. Preparing the community to face a disaster has a very important role in mitigating the impact of a disaster. A nurse needs to have knowledge and skills regarding disaster and disaster management. The purpose of this study was to explore experience of disaster nursing simulation  based on theory planned behaviour (TPB) in the city of medan. Methods The research uses qualitative methods. The population in this study were nurses in the city of Medan with the 9 participants, selected only 9 had been interview with saturate data. The themes explored through are on Theory Planned Behavior. The themes of the research results obtained are: General Attitude, Religiosity, Socio Cultural, Experience, Attitude Toward Behaviour, Subjective Norm, Perceived Behaviour Control, Intention, Behaviour. With this Disaster Nursing Simulation, many nurses already have the provision of knowledge about disaster management, disaster response attitudes, and then  when a disaster occurs, them are involved when a disaster occurs. The themes obtained influence a person to behave and have an intention in disaster response, but in the end it is not necessarily someone who wants to take disaster response actions according to their intentions.

Abstract

Kegawatdaruratan bisa terjadi pada siapa saja dan di mana saja, biasanya berlangsung secara cepat dan tiba-tiba sehingga tak seorangpun yang dapat memprediksikan. Dengan pemahaman yang utuh tentang konsep dasar gawat darurat, maka angka kematian dan kecacatan dapat ditekan serendah mungkin. Salah satu bentuk pertolongan medik yang perlu dimiliki adalah Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD). Kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa Sekolah NKRI LPKA Klas I Medan untuk melakukan simulasi pelaksanaan bantuan hidup dasar. Peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan ini mencapai 15 orang dan mereka sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan simulasi pelaksanaan bantuan hidup dasar ini. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di siswa Sekolah NKRI LPKA Klas I sebagai berikut, bahwa penegetahuan siswa sebelum dilakukan simulasi BHD mayoritas pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa sebelum dilakukan simulasi BHD mayoritas kurang. Namun, setelah diberikan pemahaman, sejalan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka meningkat. Kegiatan ini memberikan informasi yang baru bagi peserta mengenai BHD. Disarankan bahwa perlunya kegiatan seperti ini dapat dilanjutkan untuk siswa Sekolah NKRI LPKA Klas I Medan dimana kegiatan ini masih perlu dikembangkan agar kejasama dengan pihak pemerintah dan lintas sektor serta program dapat lebih ditingkatkan.
