Abstract

The majority of the people in Labuhan Ratu VIII Village, Labuhan Ratu District, East Lampung Regency work as farmers, especially rice farmers. The inhibiting factor for production in this village is a disease that attacks plants during the growing season so that it becomes the main problem in this study. The main purpose of this research is to build an expert system application to help farmers solve farmer problems in diagnosing rice plant diseases based on Android. The data used in this study consisted of 7 diseases in rice plants, namely tungro, bacterial leaf blight (HDB), stem rot, midrib rot, blast, grass dwarf and leaf midrib blight. The method used in this research is the Forward Chaining Method. The method used to build an expert system application, the tracking process of this method is from the data, then match the data with the IF part of the IF-THEN rules. If it is in accordance with the existing rules, then the rules will be executed to get a conclusion. The results of this study, the application of an expert system using Forward chaining can be used to diagnose rice plant diseases with several steps, namely selecting symptoms, conducting consultations, and displaying the results of the consultation.

Abstract

Cow bone can be used as raw material of craft. Based on the development of science and technology cow bone can be utilized for many purposes, for example, it could be as an adsorbent. Cow bone can also be used as an activated charcoal, because bone contains about 35% of organic compounds. Activated charcoal was made of cow bone through carbonization and activation processes. The activation process used Na 2 CO 3 as an activator which the concentration is 2,5%, 5% and 7,5%. In this experiment, activated carbon of cow bone was used to adsorbed is cadmium, lead, nitrate and chloride ions in solution. Cadmium and lead were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS), while chloride was analyzed using Argentometry Mohr method and nitrate was analyzed using Brusin Sulfate method. The adsorption capacity of the activated charcoal cow bones to cadmium, lead, nitrate and chloride ions are 99.9643%, 99.9481%, 90.5885% and 10.145% respectively.

Abstract

This research investigates the viewpoints of 19 English Education students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu regarding the utilization of AI tools, specifically ChatGPT, in EFL reading classes. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Social Constructivism, Cognitive Load Theory, and the Theory of Planned Behavior, a mixed-methods study demonstrated that students perceived AI as beneficial for enhancing their vocabulary, comprehension, and motivation. Although AI enhanced engagement and effectiveness, worries centered around reliance, inaccuracies, and diminished critical reading skills. Qualitative data supported these findings, highlighting students' desires for more explicit direction on the ethical and effective use of AI. The results highlight the importance of a harmonious integration of AI, stressing the necessity of digital literacy, responsible usage, and human supervision in reading education.

Abstract

Variasi bahasa adalah bentuk perbedaan penggunaan bahasa yang dipengaruhi oleh keadaan, tujuan berkomunikasi, cara penyampaian, dan latar belakang sosial serta budaya pemakai bahasa. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengertian variasi bahasa, berbagai macam jenisnya, alasan yang menyebabkan terjadinya variasi, dan contoh penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan teknik analisis konten, data dikaji untuk memahami cara pembicara mengadaptasi bahasa mereka dalam beragam situasi, baik yang formal maupun nonformal, serta dalam bentuk lisan ataupun tulisan. Temuan dari analisis ini menunjukkan bahwa pilihan varian bahasa dipengaruhi oleh hubungan sosial, saluran komunikasi, dan tujuan dari interaksi. Ragam bahasa dapat dilihat dalam berbagai konteks, seperti surat resmi, obrolan santai, artikel ilmiah, serta saat berinteraksi di kelas. Memahami berbagai jenis bahasa sangat penting untuk meningkatkan cara kita berkomunikasi dan menunjukkan kemampuan berbahasa yang baik. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mulai menguasai berbagai jenis bahasa sejak usia dini, sehingga individu dapat dengan mudah menyesuaikan diri dalam berbagai situasi komunikasi, baik di lingkungan akademik, profesional, maupun sosial.
