Abstract

This research focuses on non-verbal communication exhibited by an annoying older man performing various activities, earning him the nickname Mr. Zero Attitude in the Tekotok animation. Non-verbal communication is a crucial element in responding to messages, either directly or indirectly. In this episode, verbal communication plays a vital role in depicting the main character and the interactions among the characters. The dialogue used reflects cultural values, societal norms, and social criticism relevant to daily life. The language also showcases the uniqueness of local culture, including accents, word choices, and distinctive humor that is easily relatable to the audience. The research employs a qualitative method using an observational approach through YouTube as a platform for gathering primary and secondary data. The sources for this research include YouTube, journals, and books. The purpose of this study is to understand how Mr. Zero Attitude employs non-verbal communication in his interactions with others. The problem addressed in this research is the non-verbal communication displayed by Mr. Zero Attitude, which does not align with the social norms of the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of interpersonal communication depicted in the film 172 Days, with a particular focus on the role of the main female character, Nadzira Shafa. The film is based on a true story that portrays a brief yet deeply meaningful marital relationship between Nadzira and her husband, Muhammad Ameer Azzikra. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, this research explores various forms of verbal and nonverbal interactions presented throughout the film's narrative, as well as the emotional and spiritual dynamics underlying the characters’ communication. The findings reveal that interpersonal communication in the film functions not only as a medium for conveying messages but also as a crucial element in fostering emotional closeness, uncovering spiritual meanings, and strengthening character development. Messages conveyed through facial expressions, vocal intonation, body language, and emotionally charged dialogue enrich the audience's understanding of human values in interpersonal relationships. This study is expected to contribute to the development of interpersonal communication studies, particularly in the context of media representation based on real-life stories.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the social communication conducted by the Juntikebon Village Government in Juntinyuat Sub-District in Maintaining Religious Tolerance. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative research method, employing data collection techniques such as observation and interviews. The data excavation in this research utilizes interview techniques, with the interviewed parties including, Secretary of Juntikebon Village and Head of Juntikebon Village. The theories employed in data excavation are social communication theory and tolerance theory. Based on the research findings, the social communication conducted by the Juntikebon Village government in implementing the value of religious tolerance shows that there is social communication established between the community and the government. It can be concluded that the social communication of the Juntikebon Village government in Maintaining Harmony of Religious Tolerance in Juntikebon Village, Juntinyuat Sub-District, becomes one of the significant values for community life, contributing to building the village regardless of social strata or religion, as religion is the right and obligation of every individual. Hence, there is no business for the government, as stated in the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila. Thus, the village community and the government do not discriminate between Islam and Christianity.
