Abstract

This article discusses Gadamers hermeneutics in the study of political theology. The question of meaning is at the heart of hermeneutic study. The significance or meaning comes from the German word "meinen" which means "in the mind or true". Thus, the meaning of a text, actions, relationships, and so on is what is in the mind of the author in implementing or generating text. According to Gadamers hermeneutics, the meaning is never involved any of the elements (agents and intentions), but the two elements that must be interpreted (acts, texts and the like) and its interpreter. The Gadamer outlook is what will be used in the view of political realities, particularly the relation between religion and state in the context of Indonesian-ness.Kata Kunci: Hermeneutik Gadamer, Politik, teologi, makna, teks, interpreter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of Muslim society of Palu  to  dhakâh. The method employed in this reserach was qualitative one. The teachniques of data collection employed was observation, interview and questionaire. The results of this research indicated that most of  Muslims of   Palu  percieved dhakâh as being an indivudual ibâdah so that they preferred distributing their dhakâh  individually to distributing it through  the BAZ (The Office of Collector and Distributor of Alms-Giving). The BAZ of  Palu could not be optimally managed because of (1) the lack of human resources; (2) the lack of Muslims’ knowledge of Palu about the essence of dhakâh, and (3) the ineffectiveness of dhakâh management of  the BAZ of Palu.Kata Kunci: persepsi, masyarakat muslim,  zakat,  Badan Amil Zakat

Abstract

New Order Government is perceived by many as a unique socio-political sphere. At the time, nobody acknowledged that New Order was democratic and provided a sufficient public sphere to grow and develop a culture of different ideas. However, it was in that epoch  that Islamic thought in Indonesia suffered a significant development, that was in the past a quarter century before the reformation era. How to describe the Islamic thought in Indonesia in transition era to come to democracy? This article will describe the phenomena.               Kata Kunci : Pemikiran Islam, era transisi, Orde Baru

Abstract

This study discuss role of the Office of Religious Affairs in preventing underage marriages from the perspective of maqashid syari’ah. This study used qualitative approach with a case study methodology. Both primary and secondary data were utilized in this study, employing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and written document analysis. The findings of this study show that the role of the religious office in preventing underage marriages involves the implementation of two preventive activities, namely, religious study sessions (majelis ta’lim) and the formation of mosque youth groups. The role of the office in preventing underage marriages should be further enhanced, advocating for the optimal implementation of religious study programs and the formation of mosque youth groups in prevention efforts. The challenge factors include insufficient funding and a lack of community attention. From the maqashid syari’ah perspective, the role of the office in preventing underage marriages does not align with the Sharia objectives in preserving lineage (hifz nazhl). This misalignment arises because the office role falls short of regulating marriages in accordance with the dictates of Sharia and the Marriage Law regarding age regulations. Implications of this study call for the necessity of enhancing the office role in preventing underage marriages to align with maqashid syari’ah universally.
