Abstract

Ternate City is experiencing solid waste management problems, namely the problem of transporting waste, based on data from the environmental service in 2019, the availability of transportation infrastructure is only able to transport 100 tons of garbage per day. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of composting using tofu dregs with Takakura media. This research method is an experimental research type using a post-control design approach. The control variable was composting without Takakura media, while the treatment variable was composting with Takakura media. The aim is to compare the effectiveness of tofu dregs in composting. measurement results for 20 days for tofu dregs at a temperature of 32°C, a pH of 7.5 and a humidity of 60%. From the results of the study, it was found that the quality of the compost had met the standards based on SNI 2803:2010 and for the control, namely 31°C, pH 7.5 and humidity 60%. The conclusion is that the amount of compost produced for the two composts is different. Tofu pulp has a composting time of 20 days with the amount of compost as much as 5 0ns, meanwhile Control has a composting time of 20 days with the amount of compost as much as 2 ounces. It is recommended that further researchers use vegetables for composting using Takakura media because this material is very much found in households.

Abstract

Grand Dafam Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in the city of Ternate, North Maluku. The existence of this hotel influences on increasing the number of tourists in Ternate because it is a 4-star hotel at an affordable price. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the application of Hygiene and Sanitation at the Grand Dafam Bella Ternate Hotel. Methods: This research design uses observational design with descriptive methods. The sample of this study is the total population, namely environmental and building health, room/room health requirements, sanitation facilities, employees, and food and beverage services at the Grand Dafam Hotel, Ternate. Sampling uses a total sampling technique. Instruments such as observation sheets/inspection forms refer to minister of health regulation Number 80 of 1990 regarding hospitality sanitation requirements and the Director-General of PPM and PLP Decree No. 95 of 1991 concerning Assessment of Hotel Health Examinations. Results: The results showed that the five components studied all met the requirements by accumulation, but some things did not meet the requirements such as a non-permanent waste collection facility. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is the Hotel Grand Dafam Bella Ternate has implemented Sanitation and Hygiene properly.

Abstract

Tofu industrial liquid waste is waste generated in the process of making tofu or when washing soybeans. In Ternate City, North Maluku, tofu waste is generally discharged into the sea; this causes environmental pollution. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of lotus (Nymphaea Firecrest) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia Crassipes) to reduce levels of pollutants TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) and TSS (Total Suspended Solid) in tofu wastewater in the Tofu Industry in Jambula Village by "phytoremediation process." The research method used in this study is the Experiment Method. The sample total used is 30 liters. From the results of this study indicate that the results of the first examination for water hyacinth, TDS 525mg / l and TSS 449mg / l and lotus, TDS 598 mg / l and TSS 421mg / l, for the second examination for water hyacinth, TDS 445mg / l, and TSS 330mg / l and for lotus, TDS 598 mg / l, and TSS 421mg / l, and for the third examination of water hyacinth, TDS 720mg / l, and TSS 311mg / l and for lotus, TDS 600mg / l and TSS 419mg / l. It can conclude that the most effective way to reduce TSS (Total Suspended Solid) and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) content is by using Water Hyacinth

Abstract

Sea water pollution can cause direct and indirect health impacts. Environmental problems, water pollution problems in big cities in Indonesia, have shown quite serious symptoms. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of the distillation method to reduce Total Dissolved Solid in seawater. This research method is a simple experimental design with a post test only group control design, carried out in the chemistry laboratory of the Ternate Health Polytechnic, with a simple distillation apparatus, 10 liters of seawater samples are used in each test. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was conducted to test the difference in TDS values ​​before and before distillation. There is a significant difference in the value of Salinity before and before distillation with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) it is known that 0.00 There is a significant difference in the TDS value before and before distillation with the Sig value. (2-tailed) is known to be 0.00. Simple distillation can reduce the pollutant load of TDS in seawater so that it can turn seawater into fresh water. Based on these results, it is hoped that further research will not only test TDS but also be able to test BOD and DO in seawater.

Abstract

Nowadays in Indonesia, household waste remains the main problem. The purpose of this study is to know NPK level in anaerobic and aerobic composting using Spoiled rice MOL. This type of research is experimental, the research design is a post-test with a control group design. This type of research is experimental research design with Post-test Only Control Design. The design of this study was to determine the nitrogen, phosphorus and Potassium of compost using local microorganisms (MOL) of spoiled rice with anaerobic and aerobic composting methods. From the results of the research, the NPK content in anaerobic composting using Stale Rice MOL is 5% N, 5% P, 5% K. From the results of average measurements of temperature, pH and humidity and NPK. The temperature measurements obtained for MOL of Stale Rice are 50 ° C, 100% humidity, pH 7 and 5% N, 5% P, 5% K.
