Abstract

In recent years, the reconfiguration of the distribution network has been proclaimed as a method for realizing power savings, with virtually zero cost. The current trend is to design distribution networks with a mesh network structure, but to operate them radially. This is achieved by the establishment of an appropriate number of switchable branches which allow the realization of a radial configuration capable of supplying all of the normal defects in the box of permanent defect. The purpose of this article is to find an optimal reconfiguration using a Meta heuristic method, namely the particle swarm optimization method (PSO), to reduce active losses and voltage deviations by taking into account certain technical constraints. The validity of this method is tested on a 33-IEEE test network and the results obtained are compared with the results of basic load flow.

Abstract

When the GPV is under partial shading, several peaks appear in the characteristic P-V, namely a GMP and one or more local maximums. The classical algorithm ‘P&O’ MPPT cannot converge on the GMP for low irradiation values and is trapped by tracking down a LMP so making the algorithm ineffective making the algorithm ineffective, in this case under 200 W/m². An alternative objective function is developed to optimize the performance of the FLC by selecting the appropriate gains using PSO. In this simulation the GPV is composed of one hundred modules grouped parallel series (10x10) and subjected to partial shading. The proposed FLC provides better performance for GMP tracking for the chosen shade configuration selected.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to apply the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method to find the best location for the wind turbine in the radial distribution network. The optimal location is found using the loss sensitivity factor. By respecting the constraints of the active power transmitted in the branches and the limits of the voltages modules for all the nodes. The validity of this method is tested on a 33-IEEE test network and the results obtained are compared with the results of basic load flow.

Abstract

Wind and solar are the most important source of renewable energy for power supply in remote locations involves serious consideration of the reliability of these unconventional energy sources. We apply the cat swarm meta-heuristic optimization method to solve the problem of wind power system design optimization. The electrical power components of the system are characterized by their cost, capacity and reliability. This study seeks to optimize the design of parallel power systems in which multiple choices of generators wind, transformers and lines. Our plan has the advantage of allowing electrical components with different parameters to be customized in electrical power systems. The UMGF method is applied to allow rapid reliability estimation. A computer program is developed for the UMGF application and CS algorithm. An example is provided to explain.
