Abstract

In this paper, the effect of the ambient temperature on the PV modules for different angles of inclinations and different intensities of the solar radiation on the surface of the PV module is considered by using empirical correlations for natural convection. An analytical model based on the energy balance equilibrium between the PV module and the environment conditions has been used. Also an expression for calculating the electric power of silicon PV modules in a function of the ambient temperature, the intensity of the solar radiation, the incident angle of the solar radiation to the surface of the PV module and the efficiency of the PV modules at STC conditions have been used. By comparing the obtained both results, it can be seen that the largest deviation between the power values obtained by the analytical model and expression is about (5 %). The results obtained indicates that in the case of a small number of PV modules corresponding to the required number for an average household, it is more economical to invest additional resources in increasing the PV module's surface area than in case of the PV module with sun tracking system.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to establish a simulation model to examine the performance and working efficiency of a solar cell system by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The proposed model consists of a water feed tube and an absorber plate, as well as a convection heat transfer system, the ansys fluent system simulation program was used. The electrical output of the panel and its efficiency have been investigated and the effect of changes in the intensity of solar radiation on the temperature of the liquid and the absorption plate on the performance of the system have been studied. A dynamic analysis of the thermal hybrid system was performed with a circulation pump. Calculations were performed using a detailed mathematical model. The analysis was performed in three cases, the first case when the system has no cooling, in the second case with constant flow, and in the third case when the pump was optimized. Finally, numerical results were compared with the practical reference results. Both results are in good agreement. The results obtained showed that the system with optimization case give a good improvement in efficiency with low reduction of the thermal efficiency compared to a constant flow.

Abstract

Increasing the effects of global pollution and the availability of renewable energy sources has push many countries to use reasonable energy sources such as wind and solar energy. This paper presents a case study of evaluating a hybrid renewable energy system by using a hybrid optimization of multiple energy resources (HOMER) software program based on the entered data available from the net for the considered location. The hybrid system consisting of a wind turbine, a photovoltaic system, a battery and a diesel generator. The simulation results are presented in a graphical curves n HOMER software. The obtained results indicate that by using the HOMER simulation program, the optimal design of the hybrid electrical power system for the considered location can be achieved which can help the designer to decide the types and number of the competent required for conducting the intending hybrid electrical power system which results in optimum output power in addition to reducing the overall operating costs.

Abstract

In this paper, a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) instrumental amplifier was designed and implemented in order to provide the possibility of controlling the current and voltage gain. The proposed instrumentation amplifier consists of three conveyors with active resistor. The parasitic resistance value (Rx) was reduced with a large bandwidth level in addition to achieving a high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR). Simulation was performed by using 0.35μm CMOS technology by using the advanced design system (ADS) software. The results obtained prove that the proposed circuit has a good efficiency with higher degree of CMRR in comparison with other amplifiers designed and implemented in other similar works.

Abstract

Transmit antennas are chosen in multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems. Effective in improving system capacity while lowering RF connection costs and simplifying the system. Complete method with greatest accuracy for joint transmits and receive antenna selection (JTRAS), capable of scanning all subsets of both transmitting and receiving antennas for the optimal solution. However, when as the number of antennas but also computational complexity increase grows too great, limiting its application. Antennas are coded fractionally channel capacity maximizing coding is used as a basic criterion in this paper, and an intelligent algorithm Particle swarm algorithm, generic algorithm are used to pick antennas. The simulation results show that both algorithms are capable of performing antenna selection.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is the design and development a new English-Arabic neural machine translation (NMT) called DIA translation system. The main purpose of the designing system is to study translator limited sulfur industry domain as a stand-alone tool in order to improve the translation quality. Machine translation (MT) are very sensitive to the domains they were trained on and can be integrated with general (English-Arabic) MT systems. The proposed system has mainly four directions: supports chemical symbols, terms, phrase, and text and it is evaluated by using (1,200) various English declarative sentences which written by English Language experts. The obtained results indicate that this system is high effective and has an accuracy of 79.33% in comparison with Google translator which has 38.67% for the same test samples.
