Abstract

This paper proposes a method to compute load curtailment evaluation using ACSA based optimal power flow incorporating voltage stability margin criterion. . In a deregulated environment, congestion alleviation could mean load curtailment in certain situations.  The utilities would definitely prefer to curtail a load as lower as possible during a viability crisis situation. A criterion based on the voltage stability indicator is them incorporated as an additional constraint into the optimal power flow using ACSA algorithm and it is evaluated in a WSCC 9-bus test system.DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ijece.v3i5.2738

Abstract

This paper projects an Integrated Algorithm (IA) for solving optimal reactive power problem. Quick convergence of the Cuckoo Search (CS), the vibrant root change of the Firefly Algorithm (FA), and the incessant position modernization of the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has been combined to form the Integrated Algorithm (IA).  In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed Integrated Algorithm (IA), it has been tested in standard IEEE 57,118 bus systems and compared to other standard reported algorithms. Simulation results show that Integrated Algorithm (IA) is considerably reduced the real power loss and voltage profile within the limits.

Abstract

In this paper, Tailored Flower Pollination (TFP) algorithm is proposed to solve the optimal reactive power problem. Comprising of the elements of chaos theory, Shuffled frog leaping search and Levy Flight, the performance of the flower pollination algorithm has been improved. Proposed TFP algorithm has been tested in standard IEEE 118 & practical 191 bus test systems and simulation results show clearly the better performance of the proposed algorithm in reducing the real power loss.

Abstract

In this paper, an Enhanced Imperialist Competitive (EIC) Algorithm is proposed for solving reactive power problem. Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA) which was recently introduced has shown its decent performance in optimization problems. This innovative optimization algorithm is inspired by socio-political progression of imperialistic competition in the real world. In the proposed EIC algorithm, the chaotic maps are used to adapt the angle of colonies movement towards imperialist’s position to augment the evading capability from a local optima trap. The ICA is candidly stuck into a local optimum when solving numerical optimization problems. To overcome this insufficiency, we use four different chaotic maps combined into ICA to augment the search ability. Proposed Enhanced Imperialist Competitive (EIC) algorithm has been tested on standard IEEE 30 bus test system and simulation results show clearly the decent performance of the proposed algorithm in reducing the real power loss.

Abstract

In this paper Descending Viewer Method (DVM) projected for finding and fault tolerant control of stator inter-turn short circuit faults in doubly-fed induction generators based in wind turbine. A process has been developed that allows the way from ostensible controllers designed for strong condition, to vigorous controllers designed for defective condition. Finally value of the rotor resistance estimated & is based on the use of the error between real and probable value of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in faulty condition, this will perk up the performance of this viewer. Simulation results show the reliability of the proposed Descending Viewer Method (DVM) approach.
