Abstract

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has drawn enormous attention from the research community as a promising technology for future wireless communications with increasing demands of capacity and throughput. Especially, in the light of fifth-generation (5G) communication where multiple internet-of-things (IoT) devices are connected, the application of NOMA to indoor wireless networks has become more interesting to study. In view of this, we investigate the NOMA technique in energy harvesting (EH) half-duplex (HD) decode-and-forward (DF) power-splitting relaying (PSR) networks over indoor scenarios which are characterized by log-normal fading channels. The system performance of such networks is evaluated in terms of outage probability (OP) and total throughput for delay-limited transmission mode whose expressions are derived herein. In general, we can see in details how different system parameters affect such networks thanks to the results from Monte Carlo simulations. For illustrating the accuracy of our analytical results, we plot them along with the theoretical ones for comparison.

Abstract

This paper presents in detail how to build up and implement a real-time web-based face recognition application. The system works so that images of people are recorded and compared with the references on the database. If they match, the information about their presence will be recorded. As for the system architecture, the multi-task cascaded neural network was deployed for face detection. Followingly, for the recognizing tasks, we conducted a study to compare the accuracy level of three different face recognizing methods on three different public datasets by means of both the literature review and our simulation. From the comparison, it can be drawn that the FaceNet algorithm in-used with the support vector machine (SVM) classifier performs the best among others and is the most suitable candidate for the practical deployment. Eventually, the proposed system can deliver a highly satisfactory result, proving its potentials not only for the research but also the commercial purposes.

Abstract

Due to the abundance of internet and e-commerce (electronic commerce), an excessive amount of data has been generated causing an overload of information to the current network infrastructure. As an attempt to solve this problem, there is a shift to mobile payment in the field of E-commerce. Thus, it is essential to study the adoption level of such service for global markets in general and the Vietnamese market in specific. In this paper, we study the consumers' attitude toward mobile payment, investigated with the theory of planned behavior (TPB) from three perspectives, namely the consumer innovativeness, perceived benefit, and perceived risk. Accordingly, there are six hypotheses proposed to study the consumers' attitude toward the service. Thanks to the structural equation modeling (SEM) method, a population of 250 Vietnamese mobile payment users was analyzed to confirm five out of the six hypotheses. It is drawn that the attitude toward the service is correlated positively with the innovativeness and the perceived benefit, while being correlated negatively with the perceived risk. Besides, the resulted model can elucidate approximately 49% the consumers' intention to reuse the mobile payment service.

Abstract

In this paper, we improve the uplink energy efficiency (EE) of the multi-band machine-to-machine (M2M) communications underlaying cellular networks. In particular, based on the theory of stochastic geometry, we derive the closed-form expressions of the outage probability (OP), and the average energy efficiency of cellular and Machine-to-Machine users in two-way cooperative relaying networks with three-time-slot setting. We ensure the quality of service (QoS) by considering the OP and the average energy efficiency of all links. It is concluded that the three-time-slot relay-aided Machine-to-Machine communication can offer considerably high QoS and low transmission power for fairly distant machine-to-machine networks.
