Abstract

The use of technology in the evaluation can help make it easier to understand the assessed assessments including online services. This is not the exception of individual education plans in which the Individual Education Plan improves the technology of writing documents to the use of the online Individual Education Plan System (e-RPI) which documents the individual planning and evaluation of the pupils with special needs without leaving the character and elements becoming more organized and systematic. Hence, this study aims to answer the questions of the study on the management and mastery of the Individual Education Plan online. A total of 75 Special Education teachers in Kuala Lumpur participated in this study. This study uses a quantitative approach in the form of field surveys. The instrument used is a set of questionnaire forms adapted from the Individual Education plan management study by Institute on Community Integration (ICI). Meanwhile, the data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 software and data interpretation using statistical inference method. The findings show that there is no significant difference in the management of the Individual Education Plan online by male and female teachers. There is also no significant difference in teacher experience with the mastery of the e-RPI. Therefore, it is necessary to train teachers to improve their competence and understanding of the work processes and the exposure of the e-RPI concept.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of parental involvement in the implementation of personal hygiene practices for children with special needs in Klang district. This study used a quantitative design, a survey study that utilized questionnaire method in data collection. The questionnaire instrument used in this study was taken from the previous study and modified according to the research objectives. The reliability value for the instrument was 0.87 and this instrument had been validated by two experts in the field of special education and language. The questionnaires were distributed using Google Form to the target parents. A total of 100 parents were selected by simple random sampling as respondents. Data obtained through the questionnaires were analyzed using ‘Statistical Package for the Social Science’ (SPSS) version 23.0 in the form of descriptive analysis. The findings showed that the total mean score for the knowledge level of parents was 4.70 which was very high. Meanwhile, the mean score level for the parental involvement in the personal hygiene care of students with special needs was 4.47, which was also very high. The findings also showed that there was a significant relationship between the knowledge and practice of parents in the hygiene care of special needs students. In conclusion, the level of parental involvement was very high in the hygiene practice of students with special needs in Klang district. It is hoped that this study can increase the awareness of personal hygiene among students with special needs through the role played by the parents.

Abstract

The problem of sexual behavior among Special Needs Students can be overcome by the effectiveness of teaching or presentation in Sexual Education lesson. In this regard, the study aims to identify the relationship between knowledge level and Sexual Education practice of Special Needs Students Special Education teacher. This study was based on cognitive theory that emphasizes internal mental processes. The model used in this study was the Model of Cognitive Response. This quantitative study conducted cross-sectional surveys on 86 special education teachers in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia. The sample was selected through stratified random sampling technique to balance the number of samples comprising male teachers and female teachers. The research instrument was adapted from Ang Chai Tin’S study in year of 2014. All the questionnaires showed the reliability level of 0.801 Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The data obtained from questionnaires were distributed to teachers. Data were analyzed via SPSS and described with descriptively as well as inferentially. The findings of the Spearman Correlation Coefficient indicated that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and the teaching practice of Special Needs Students Sexual Education among teachers. [rs = 0.664, n=86, p < 0.05]. Correlation strength value was strong. The conclusions of this study showed that Null Hypothesis (Ho) rejected, knowing that there was a strong and significant positive relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of teacher practice in MBK Sexual Education.

Abstract

The main aim of the research is to ensure effective lesson and produce best impact in classroom by providing conducive and comfortable condition. The objective of this research is to obtain Special Education Teachers’ views regarding the Special Education Integration Program (PPKI) in primary school in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. This research was conducted quantitatively based on Maslow’s hierarch needs theory. A random sampling method is used in gathering the research data involving 137 special education primary school teachers. The research instrument is an adaptation from the questionnaire of the special education infrastructure needs in Malaysia. The data were analyzed descriptively. The findings showed that the level of special education classroom facilities special education teachers’ views is at moderate level. The research concludes that improvements in infrastructure facilities need to be done to meet the UDL model requirements for the convenience of special education students.
