Abstract. This research aimed to assess the effect of NPK fertilizer and biochar residue on the growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.) at the second growing season. The experimental treatment arranged in randomized block design with four replications. The treatments consisted of two biochar residue levels, without biochar residue and biochar residue of 10 ton ha-1. The NPK fertilizer treatments consisted of three levels, i.e, without NPK, NPK 60 kg ha-1 and NPK 120 kg ha-1. The results showed that NPK fertilization significantly influenced plant height 35, 45 and 90 days after planting (DAP ), the number of tillers 35 and 45 DAP, the number of panicles per hill, total grain number per panicle, percentage of empty grain per panicle, the percentage of filled grain per panicle, weight of 1000 grain, and the potential yield per hectare. Biochar residue significantly influenced the potential yield per hectare. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemupukan NPK dan residu biochar terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi sawah (Oryza sativa L.) pada musim tanam kedua. Perlakuan percobaan disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial dengan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan residu biochar terdiri dari 2 taraf yaitu perlakuan tanpa residu biochar dan perlakuan residu biochar 10 ton ha‑1. Perlakuan pupuk NPK terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu tanpa pupuk NPK, pupuk NPK 60 kg ha-1 dan pupuk NPK 120 kg ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemupukan NPK berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 35, 45 dan 90 hari setelah tanam (HST), jumlah anakan 35 HST dan 45 HST, jumlah malai perrumpun, jumlah gabah total permalai, persentase gabah hampa permalai, persentase gabah isi permalai, bobot 1000 butir gabah, dan potensi hasil gabah perhektar.
