Abstract

This paper presented the utilization of pattern discovery techniques by using multiple relationships and clustering educational data mining approaches to establish a knowledge base that will aid in the prediction of ideal college program selection and enrollment forecasting for incoming freshmen. Results show a significant level of accuracy in predicting college programs for students by mining two years of student college admission and graduation final grade scholastic records. The results of educational predictive data mining methods can be applied in improving the services of the admission department of an educational institution, particularly in its course alignment, student mentoring, admission forecast, marketing, and enrollment preparedness.

Abstract

To innovate a proactive surveillance camera, there is a need for efficient face detection and recognition algorithm. The researchers used one of the ViolaJones algorithm and used different image processing techniques to recognize intruders or not. The goal of the research is to recognize the fastest way on how the homeowners will be informed if an intruder or burglar enters their home using a proactive surveillance device. This device was programmed based on the different recognition algorithms and a criteria evaluation framework that could recognize intruders and burglars and the design used was developmental research to satisfy the research problem. The researchers used the Viola-Jones algorithm for face detection and five algorithms for face recognition. The criteria evaluation was used to identify the best face recognition algorithm and was tested in a real-world situation and captured a series of images camera and processed by proactive face detection and recognition. The result shows that the system can detect and recognize intruders and proactively send a notification to the homeowners via mobile application. It is concluded that the system can recognize the intruders and proactively notify the household members using the mobile applications and activate the alarm system of the house.

Abstract

A in a university setting, class scheduling is vital for teaching and learning process. Academic institutions rely on time tables in their day to day activities. University Course Timeframe problem can be resolved by using multi-agent systems-based method which may increase the independence of each department's class scheduling, adaptability in a distributed environment and prevents conflicts between events or resources, and unforeseen allocation through intervention between agents in a dispersed environment. Class timing is performed manually in most of the higher educational institutions, which is a very challenging and time-consuming process. The main objective of the study is to build a multi-agent class timing system that automates the process of class scheduling of higher education institutions (HEIs) using the Prometheus methodology. The implementation of the Prometheus approach in the development of a multi-agent framework has resulted in a complete and comprehensive system covering all phases of software development as applied to the agent systems.
