Abstract

Introduction : In communicable diseases, one of the important and prime aspect is practice of hygiene forindividual’s health and well-being. These communicable diseases are considered to be contribute Objective:To assess the existing level of knowledge regarding environmental hygiene in rural community Materials andmethods: Study has adopted Non experimental research approach and descriptive survey research design.Self administered structured questionnaire were used to assess the knowledge regarding environmentalhygiene. After obtaining the permission from each respondents the questionnaire was administered andsurvey form was collected. Written consent was taken from each sample prior to pretest. Sample size was150 . Setting was Mutha Village of Pune city. and samples were from population from rural communityResults Majority of respondents has poor knowledge (47.7%), 40% of respondents has average knowledgeand only 13.3% respondents has poor knowledge regarding environmental hygiene Conclusion:. Studyconcluded that residents of rural community has poor knowledge regarding environmental hygiene.
