Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see a picture of self-acceptance in adolescent orphanages. The source of this research consisted of five research subjects who were young women at Puteri Aisyiyah Medan Orphanage and three informants. The procedure for taking the subject uses purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected using observation and interview methods. The results obtained are that young women at Puteri Aisyiyah Orphanage have a good self-acceptance picture, and can accept themselves with their status as children of an orphanage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between classroom climate and learning motivation. The hypothesis submitted in this research is, there is a positive relationship between classroom climate and learning motivation, with assumption the more conducive classroom climate perceived by students, the higher learning motivation of students and vice versa. The research subjects used in this study were high school students in Methodist 2 with a major of Social Sciences as many as 182 people selected by the disproportionate stratified random sampling method. The method of analysis data used for this research is Product Moment correlation through SPSS 17 for Windows. The results of data analysis showed r = 0.575 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05) which means that there is a positive relationship between classroom climate and learning motivation. The results of this research show that the contribution (R2) given the classroom climate variable to learning motivation was 33.1 percent, the rest 66.9 percent was influenced by other factors not examined in this research. From the results of this research it can be concluded that the research hypothesis there is a positive relationship between classroom climate with learning motivation, can be accepted.

Abstract

Adolescent development period is a critical period where there is a transition of development from childhood to adulthood about their mental function, physical, and their psychological. For the sake to support teenager can grow in accordance with their mental age, teenagers are expected to have a high psychological well-being. Give them a chance to get involve in an useful activity so that can increase their willingness to engage in prosocial behavior in the future. Based on the above background this study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between prosocial behavior with psychological well being on X class students at SMA Negeri 13 Medan. The sample on this study amounted to 142 students. The following instruments were used are Physicological Well Being Scale based on Ryff theory, and Prosocial Behaviour Scale which constructed based on Schroeder and Graziano theory. The results of data analysis using Pearson Product Moment showed r = 0,371 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). It means there is a positive and significant between prosocial behaviour with psychological well being on X class students at SMA Negeri 13 Medan, the higher prosocial behaviour are, the higher level of psychological well being on X class students on SMA Negeri 13 Medan.
