Abstract

The study of sanad’s quality was so broad then implies to the existence of ittiṣāl and inqiṭā’ al-sanad. The muttaṣi al-sanad hadith might be claimed a probable ṣahih when it is examined with al-jarḥ wa al-ta’dīl. In line to that, the muttaṣi al-sanad might be also questioned about the linked riwayat to Nabi (marfū’), as there were also some hadith which linked the sanad to sahabat (mauqūf) or tabi’in (maqṭū’). And so does to the term fake hadith within ilmu al-Muṣṭalaḥ al-Ḥadīṡ which is called mauḍū’. This paper then starts to problematize why it is so important to study the level of fake hadith while at the same time a counter statement says that it came from a concept brought by former ulama and agreed by most today’s ulama. In another part, this paper argues that the term ittiṣāl al-sanad may be applied or contextualized in daily life, specifically within educational concern as long as academia within this study elaborate a broader scope, such as both matan and sanad field of study.

Abstract

This paper attempts to examine one of the hadith books which has great influence in the study of hadith, ie al-Jāmi al-Saghīr min Ahādīth al-Bashīral-Nadhīr al-Suyūtī (1405 M / 911 H). The book is composed of Arabic alphabets or mu’jam in order to facilitate the search for the matan hadith. Some scholars have paid attention to al-Jāmi al-Saghīr with sharh so it is easy to understand the contents of his hadith content. With the descriptive-analytical method of this paper indicates that the quality of hadith in the book is varied, some are valid, hasan, daif, even false or have no obvious origin. al-Suyūtī is known to be less precise and easy in validating a hadith. The criterion of the validity of hadith is very loosely so that it seems more emphasized aspect of matan than sanad. Of course it is also important but the study of sanad should also be done to balance. al-Jāmi ‘al-S{aghīr is one of the books referring to many sources of earlier hadith books. Of the several books that exist, the book of hadith is arranged alphabetically so that the reader is easy to find matan hadith directly. In addition there are some traditions that are not arranged alphabetically or alphabetically. al-Jāmi al-Saghīr al-Suyūtī work has contributed in enriching the hadith literature.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze one of the main topics in the ‘Ulūm Al-Qurān (Quranic Sciences), namely nāsikh and mansūkh or theory of abrogation. The study of this concept is very important for an interpreter to avoid mistakes in understanding the verses of the Qur'an. In general, classical scholars understand the study of naskh in terms of the timing of the decline of verses makkīyah and madanīyah. The polemic between supporters and rejecters of the theory of naskh colored the literature of the Ulūm Al-Qurān since the classical period to the present. The majority of classical scholars accepted the concept of nāsikh-mansūkh, even as a form of miracles of the Qur'an. Unlike the minority groups who did not accept the concept of nāsikh-mansūkh, for them, all the verses of the Qur'an have their respective contexts. All verses are used because there is no way the verses of the Qur'an can be ignored. However, the past naskh theory was deemed irrelevant by Maḥmūd Muḥammad Ṭāhā and Abdullahi Ahmed An-Naim. These two Sudanese thinkers put more emphasized on universal basic values ​​contained in the verses of the Qur'an. So, it could be verses makkīyah abrogated verses madanīyah. Ṭāhā and An-Naim want to grounded the universal teachings of Islam, and that can be found in the verses of makkīyah, not madanīyah. This is one of the unique thoughts of the two Sudan thinkers. They want to emphasized gender equality, social justice, social transformation, from reluctance to liberation. The point is that they want the basic values ​​that are universal to be applied in the lives of Muslim communities, not those that are particular. The verses that contain universal basic values ​​was found in the makkīyah, not the madanīyah

Abstract

This paper Examined one of the main themes in the Ulumul Qur’an study that is asbāb al-nuzūl. The Qur’an is a Divine kalam which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad who lived in the midst of an Arab society that had its own traditions and culture. Because it could be said that the Qur’an is not born from a vacuum of culture, it was closely related to the surrounding environment. To know the circumstances in which the Qur’an was revealed, it is necessary to know asbāb al-nuzūl. In Ulumul Qur’an’s classic literature, the study of science was highly prioritized because it helped in understanding the verses of the Qur’an. One of the interesting figures in studying asbāb al-nuzūl is M. Amin Abdullah. He divides the term into two: asbāb al-nuzūl al-qadīm and asbāb al-nuzūl al-jadīd. The first term refers to classical clerical studies that are only oriented to the past as they are found in the books of Ulumul Qur’an. Asbāb al-nuzūl al-qadīm is considered incapable of explaining the problems of the present so there must be a study of asbāb al-nuzūl al-jadīd. This term is one form of contextual study of the verses of the Qur’an to be more relevant and able to answer the problem of the present. Although Amin Abdullah’s study has not been comprehensive but he has tried to develop a contemporary Qur’anic study with a new version. Between asbāb al-nuzūl al-qadīm and asbāb alnuzūl al-jadīd must be coupled simultaneously in order to create a complete understanding of the Qur’an.
