Abstract

This research aimed to determine the application of the Quantum Teaching learning model to improve learning outcomes and the ability to make mind mapping in Al-Islam. This article is the result of a classroom action research in Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Condongcatur, Yogyakarta with observations, tests, interviews, and documentation as data collection methods. Based on the results of reflection, the teacher carries out a follow-up plan, which can compose revisions of the old or new plan. The application of learning using Quantum Teaching on Al-Islam material with a small discussion model, mind mapping, interactive lectures and problem solving is quite effective in the process of learning activities in the classroom. This can be seen from the results of research, among others: can improve student learning outcomes and making mind mapping material Al-Islam. Quantum Teaching Model can encourage teachers to develop themselves in the learning process. Quantum Teaching Model gained 10 points in cycle I, which means the learning process started to be seen. Cycle II the learning process got 14 points. In cycle I the result of the average student learning outcomes was 94 and the making of an average mind mapping was 92. In cycle II student learning outcomes were 99 on average and mind mapping was 96.

Abstract

The unavailability of Islamic history teaching materials in accordance with the principles of teaching materials and curriculum of the Muhammadiyah Boarding School of Yogyakarta is a background that encourages writers to research, develop and test the feasibility of Islamic history teaching materials for students in class VIII of Muhammadiyah Boarding School of Yogyakarta. This reseach aims to determine, develop and test the appropriateness of Islamic history teaching materials used for students of class VIII at Muhammadiyah Boarding School of Yogyakarta. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches to the type of research and development. Data collection techniques in this research used the method of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The test subjects in this research were Islamic history’s teachers and VIII grade students of Muhammadiyah Boarding School of Yogyakarta. The results of this research produced a product in the form of Islamic history teaching materials for students of class VIII of Muhammadiyah Boarding School of Yogyakarta entitled“al-Tarikh al-Islami (fi Sirah Rasulillah Shallallah ‘alaihi wa Sallam).” After the validation test from the expert, from the aspects of appearance, presentation and learning got results with very good categories. Based on the results of teacher and student responses from aspects, content and material got results with the category of "very good." Thus it can be concluded that teaching materials are appropriate to be used in Islamic learning.

Abstract

The modern era is a time of development of the positivism philosophy. Modern world life is based on the paradigm of positivism thinking. The paradigm of positivism thinking believes that all science is mathematical which is characterized by objective, measurable, scientific, rational and universal thinking patterns. These four ways of thinking have brought modern civilization to the triumph of science. On the other side, a civilization based on the modern paradigm experiences various kinds of humanitarian problems. The paradigm of modern thinking is not suitable when it is associated with social problems including the education. Jurgen habermas, a Frankfurt school figure, offers solutions to overcome social problems that cannot be overcome by modern paradigms. Habermas developed a critical theory that had been put forward by the previous generation of Frankfrut figures. The theory he offered was a critical theory of emancipation and a theory of communicative action. Emancipatory critical theory and communicative action theory are able to answer problems in the world of education that cannot be answered by the positivistic thinking paradigm.

Abstract

This research explains the application of the normative and philological approach of Al-Quran surah Luqman ayat 17 concerning the prayer commands for implementation in children's education. This research is a library research with philological normative approach. The results of the research are; interpretation of surah Luqman ayat 17 contains the word command parents to teach their children to pray since the age of seven years. At this age, children begin to be understood about prayer education carefully, thoroughly and seriously. The prayer rituals contained the pleasure of Allah SWT, preventing oneself from the forehead and evil and patient and steadfast in facing problems and trials that afflict them. Education in habituating children to pray continues from the age of seven years to the age of 10 years. If at the age of 10 years, children still disobey and do not pray, then parents are allowed to beat their children. The blow given is the blow that is educational and not painful. Abstrak Penelitian ini menjelaskan penerapan pendekatan normatif dan filologi Al-Quran surat Luqman ayat 17 tentang perintah sholat implementasi pada pendidikan Anak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan normatif filologi. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan; penafsiran ayat surat Lukman ayat 17 mengandung kata perintah orang tua untuk mengajarkan anaknya sholat sejak usia mencapai tujuh tahun. Pada usia ini, anak difahamkan tentang pendidikan shalat dengan cermat, seksama serta secara serius. Ritual shalat terkandung nilai ridha Allah SWT, mencegah diri dari nahi dan munkar sabar dan tabah dalam menghadapi permasalahan maupun cobaan yang menimpa. Pendidikan dalam pembiasaan sholat anak terus dilakukan sejak usia tujuh tahun hingga usia 10 tahun. Apabila diusia 10 tahun, anak masih membangkang dan tidak menjalankan sholat, maka orang tua diperkenankan untuk memukul anaknya. Pukulan yang diberikan adalah pukulan yang mendidik dan tidak menyakitkan.
