Abstract

Lack of science learning achievement at MIN 1 Metro possible because learning methods used have not put forward the activity of students in the learning process. Inquiry learning is one of the alternative efforts to improve student achievement in science subjects at MIN 1 Metro. Research done by quasi-experimental approach with two classes of objects that the experimental class and control class. The results showed that the implementation of inquiry learning have a significant influence on the average value of learning achievement in science class VI MIN 1 Metro, as indicated by the average value of student learning outcomes in inquiry learning is better than learning approaches expository.

Abstract

Science education for children is expected to deliver the basic thinking abilities and life skills. Science education for elementary school is demanded based on the characteristics of thinking their ages. Teaching science needs harmony between teaching at school and at home. Teaching science at home and neighborhood should be conducted with respect to the development of the child's age and suitability of school subjects. Understanding each parents will be very important to a child's development as a basic in learning of science at home and neighborhood. Warmth in helping children respond to any scientific phenomena at home and the neighborhood will be very beneficial to children in learning science at home and the neighborhood as a continuation of the process of science teaching in schools.
