Abstract

The influence of Western culture has been recognized as very decisive towards the existence of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, and the formulation and stipulations of international human rights that cannot be denied. Awareness of this has led to ideological conflicts in international scale human rights discourse. The conflict includes challenges to the application of universal human rights and rejection of the diagnosis that human rights norms can be understood as a standard that knows no time limits and differences in nationality throughout the world. The dynamics of universality and relativism around Ham seen from the perspective of conflict resolution produce several views including that the dynamics of universality and relativism in human rights begin when there are many incompatibility of human rights norms with socio-cultural cultural societies. The resolution of the problems related to human rights above is dialogue. Dialogue can be the best way if each party accepts openly the issues related to human rights norms, which are considered to be incompatible with cultural culture and can eventually be resolved.

Abstract

This paper examines Fi Sabilillah Jihad in Islam. Jihad which is often understood as a mission to get God's blessing becomes a dynamic that often triggers the emergence of religious nuances of violence. Jihad is understood as an order to fight different groups of ideas with their groups, so that such understanding will direct religious people into the extremist and fundamental paradigms. Through this study the author tries to conclude that jihad is not an order to kill or threaten the lives of other non-Muslims. However, jihad in Islam can be interpreted as an order to fight and fight against unbelievers who insult and hostile to Islam, Allah SWT never conveyed in the Koran to kill and fight against people who were not hostile to Islam, but only ordered to fight against unbelievers who insult Islam and uphold the religion of God on earth. Specifically jihad is different from war and terrorism, jihad is an effort with a genuine sense of carrying out Allah's commands and there is no killing order in it.

Yogyakarta is a name for a region in Indonesia, a region that is very unique and authentic, where the lives of its people are still thick with Javanese culture that continues to be preserved as a social identity. In addition, the pluralistic life of Yogyakarta people is an interesting concern from both cultural aspects and social interaction, one example of its uniqueness is the existence of Islamic boarding school that still exist today. The Islamic boarding school founded by the transgender group in Yogyakarta serves as a forum for friendship and coaching in terms of religious education for transgender in Yogyakarta, but in 2016 there was a conflict of plans to close the Islamic boarding school by the FJI (Islamic Jihad Front). The conflict gave birth to a responsive attitude from the social groups in transgender Islamic boarding school. The actions taken are silent and understood in this paper as symbolic interactions. This silent action was born in the minds of individuals who described his group as an attempt to resolve the conflict peacefully.

Abstract

In a pluralistic community where society is divided by beliefs, social class, culture and religion, disagreements or differences of opinion always arise. Disagreements arise due to the fact that there are many different views or philosophies of life and do not match one another. Hannah Arendt is a philosopher who is very challenging for anyone who intends to study her political philosophy. This is because he did not write something that represents a systematic political philosophy, where a main argument is explained and developed in a sequential manner starting from general themes that are always associated with political philosophy, such as authority, state, power, sovereignty, government system. Specifically, Arendt initiated the theory of action. To speak of Action theory is to enter into the central space of Arendt's political thought. The common thread of action as something that is inherent in every individual lies in the representation of the vita active (active life) and the realization of the fundamental human form as contained in Arendt's book Human Condition, namely work, work, and action. According to Hannah Arendt, preventive measures to suppress conflict do not occur, namely when public spaces can be built with openness to one another or in Hannah Arendt's theory it is called the act of communication.
