Abstract

This study presents modulated-wavelength division radio signals over fiber with mixed modulation techniques in the transmitter stage. Hybrid optical sources are used to achieve optimal performance and enhancement for an optical fiber communication network. The proposed modulation techniques work at a frequency of 250 GHz. Optical quadrature phase shift keying (OQPSK) and phase modulation (PM) techniques were merged to create OQPSKPM. This was in addition to the minimum shift keying (MSK) modulation scheme that was applied in the proposed model. The modulated wavelength division multiplexing design to four subscribers was examined with a single mode optical fiber at a 1550 nm wavelength. The proposed and previous simulation models were executed, investigated and measured on important operating parameter quantities that expressed the behavior of the optical fiber network in detail, like maximum quality factor, minimum bit error rate, and output power. The obtained simulation results demonstrated the priority of the proposed simulation model.

Abstract

This paper has clarified the conventional silica doped (SiGeO2) and aluminum fluoride (AlF3) fibers for low loss and minimum dispersion effects for upgrading fiber-optic communication systems. The total dispersion with the total losses are modeled for both fibers. Fiber bandwidth and the power received are estimated based on different dopant ratios. The spectral and thermal effects are applied on both fibers. The study assured the negative effects of increasing ambient temperatures and the positive effects of increasing dopant ratios on the performance of the fibers.

Abstract

This study has clarified the best candidate routing algorithms integrated with minimum processing times and low blocking probabilities for modern parallel computing systems. Different methods were employed, such as the fast window method (FWM), fast bitwise window method (FBWM), and fast improved window method (FIWM), to upgrade the processing time and reduce the network delay time. In addition, different algorithms were studied such as the fast window ascending, the fast window descending, the fast window sequential algorithm, and the fast window sequential down algorithms; these were studied to show the numerical results of the networks’ blocking probabilities, processing times, and delay times.

Abstract

This study shows hybrid continuous-phase frequency shift keying (CPFSK)/optical quadrature-phase shift keying (OQPSK) modulation transmission techniques’ performance efficiency with return-to-zero (RZ) line coding scheme–based fiber systems in passive optical networks. Max. Q factor/min. bit error rate variations versus modulation frequency and fiber length are studied in detail for various bits/symbol, based on hybrid proposed modulation transmission techniques. Also, optical power and received electrical power variations are simulated with fiber-length variations at a specified modulation frequency of 300 GHz. Max. Q Factor, min. BER, max. signal power, and min. noise power variations are based on hybrid modulation techniques for CPFSK/OQPSK of 32 bits/symbol and a modulation frequency of 500 GHz through a fiber length of 30 km.

Abstract

The present study has outlined laser-measured rate equations with various transmission coders for optimum data transmission error rates. Various modulation transmission coders are employed, such as a pulse position modulation coder, a differential pulse intensity modulation coder, and a four band/five band modulation transmission coder, in order to create optimized data rates of up to 40 GB/s for a fiber extension length of up to 100 km. This study has emphasized the important role of pulse position modulation transmission coders, which exhibit superior performance in max. Q parameter and min. data error rates, even for high data rate transmission.

Abstract

This study develops an analytical method with numerical results for the design of optical slab waveguides for optical communication system applications. An optical slab waveguide structure made of silicon on silicon dioxide material is designed and analyzed. The effective index of the mode is studied against variations in the waveguide dimensions. Transmission and reflection coefficients are studied and compared to the wavelength and dimensions of the waveguide. Variations are sketched with the x-axis, in addition to the electric field intensity distribution and effective refractive index. Waveguide bending loss is also studied with waveguide thickness and length variations within three waveguide transmission windows of 850 nm, 1300 nm, and 1550 nm.
