Abstract

Hydroseeding is an alternative to traditional seed-sowing vegetative technology by mixing other ingredients such as tackifiers (soil amendment), fertilizers, mulch, water, or other materials sprayed using hydraulic pumps (Siswomartono, 1989). In general, the soil amendment used in the hydroseeding mixture is a type of polyacrilamide (PAM). The use of PAM in hydroseeding mixtures still has a deficiency of less stable soil aggregate bonds after being sprayed (dry) on the slope surface (Sunandar, 201). The soil aggregate bond is one of the factors that affect the soil resistance to erosion caused by rain water. Therefore, to answer these problems need to look for other adhesive materials that can bind aggregate soil to be better or stable. Latex is an alternative answer to the problem, however, the effect of latex on the growth of vegetation seeds in the hydroseeding mixture has not been studied. The purpose of this research paper is to compare the utilization of latex and polyacrilamide (PAM) in the mixture of hydroseeding to the growth of grass and cover crop vegetation. The research method used is RAK in time with 9 treatments, namely: PAM + grass seeds, latex + grass seeds bermuda, PAM + cover crop PJ, latex + cover crop seeds PJ, PAM + grass seeds rhodes, latex + grass seeds rhodes, PAM + grass seeds signal, latex + grass seeds signal and grass vetiver with 3 repetitions. The results showed an interaction between the combination of seeds and the soil amendment with time. In addition, this study shows that the use of Latex and PAM has no significant effect on growth. Abstract

ABSTRAKDi Indonesia, erosi pada lereng jalan mencapai 120-400 ton ha-1 tahun-1 (Kusminingrum, 1991). Hal ini akan mengakibatkan dampak negatif seperti kerusakan pada infrastuktur jalan dan keselamatan pengemudi. Stabilisasi tanah dengam memamfaatkan serutan kayu dan polyacrilamide (PAM) dalam campuran hydroseeding diharapkan dapat menurunkan erosi permukaan lereng jalan. Hal ini diindikasikan dengan adanya perubahan sifat fisika tanah yaitu menurunkan bobot isi tanah, meningkatkan porositas tanah, meningkatkan kemantapan agregat dan C-organik tanah. Tujuan penulisan makalah penelitian ini adalah membahas kombinasi terbaik antara serutan kayu dan PAM dalam campuran hydroseeding terhadap beberapa sifat fisika tanah. Metode penelitian dalam makalah ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Pola Faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah serutan kayu dengan empat taraf yaitu  0 g m-2, 250 g m-2, 350 g m-2, 450 g m-2 dan faktor kedua adalah PAM dengan empat taraf yaitu 0 g m-2, 1 g m-2, 2 g m-2, 3 g m-2 dengan pengulangan tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi terbaik antara serutan kayu dan PAM dalam campuran hydroseeding memberikan hasil yang berbeda-beda untuk bobot isi, porositas, kemantapan agregat dan C-organik tanah. Kombinasi 350 g m-2 (s2) serutan kayu dengan PAM  2 g m-2 (p2) memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap bobot isi dan porositas tanah. Kombinasi serutan kayu 450 g m-2(s3) dengan PAM 2 g m-2 (p2) memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap kemantapan agregat tanah. Kombinasi serutan kayu 450 g m-2(s3) dengan PAM 3 g m-2(p3) memberikan hasil yang terbaik terhadap C-organik tanah.  Kombinasi terbaik antara serutan kayu dengan PAM tersebut diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan peranan campuran hydroseeding dalam menurunkan besarnya erosi yang terjadi pada permukaan lereng jalan.Kata Kunci: erosi, hydroseeding, bobot isi, kemantapan agregat tanah, porositas tanah dan C-organik tanah. ABSTRACTIn Indonesia, sheet erosion on road slope has reached 120-400 ton ha-1 years-1 (Kusminingrum, 1991). This condition caused negative effect such as  road infrastructure damaging  and  road user safety. Soil stabilization using wood shavings and polyacrylamide (PAM) to the hydroseeding mixture is hoped to reduce sheet erosion on road slopes. This condition is indicated through land physical properties changes by reducing   soil bulk density, increasing soil porosity, soil aggregate stability and soil C-organic. This research paper aims to  explain the best level of measurement  of wood shavings and PAM in hydroseeding mixture in the context of physical properties of soil. The study method of this paper uses Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors. The first factor using  wood shavings with four levels ie 0 g m-2, 250 g m-2, 350 g m-2, 450 g m-2 and second factor using  PAM with four levels ie 0 g m-2, 1 g m- 2, 2 g m-2, 3 g m-2 with three times repetitions. The study shows the best combination of wood shavings and PAM in hydroseeding mixture gives various results in terms of   soil bulk density, soil porosity, aggregate stability and soil C-organic. The combination of 350 g m-2 (s2) of wood shavings with PAM 2 g m-2 (p2) gives the best result in terms of bulk density and  porosity of the soil. The combination of wood shavings 450 g m-2 (s3) with PAM 2 g m-2 (p2) gives the best result  in terms of  aggregate stability. The combination of wood shavings 450 g m-2 (s3) with PAM 3 g m-2 (p3) gives the best results on the C-organic soil. The best combination between wood shavings and PAM can optimizing the hydroseeding function on reducing sheet erosion of road slope.   Keywords: erosion, hydroseeding, soil bulk density, soil agregate stability, porosity of the soil and soil C-organic
