Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mendapatkan jawaban apakah strategi Shared Writing ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mahasiswa dalam menulis esai pendek dan faktor-faktor apa saja yang memengaruhi peningkatan tersebut. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari lima pertemuan. empat pertemuan untuk pembelajaran menulis esai pendek dengan menggunakan strategi Shared Writing dan satu pertemuan lagi untuk tes menulis esai pendek mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 17 September 2014 sampai 19 November 2014. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah lembaran observasi, catatan lapangan, interview, dan tes. Penerapan shared writing menunjukan adanya peningkatkan kemampuan menulis mahasiswa dalam menulis esai pendek. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan nilai mahasiswa. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada siklus 1 adalah 60,8 dan pada siklus 2 adalah 73,7. Kemudian, faktor yang mempengaruhi peningkatan kemampuan mahasiswa tersebut adalah bahan ajar yang menarik, strategi dosen, peranan dosen, interaksi antar mahasiswa dan latihan menulis mahasiswa dalam mengikuti semua prosedur pada strategi tersebut.The purpose of this classroom action research is to find out whether this Shared Writing Strategy can improve students' writing skills in short essay writing and to find out what factors influence the improvement. This classroom action research is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of five meetings. There are four meetings for short essay writing lessons using Shared Writing strategies and one more meeting for short essay writing tests. The research was conducted from 17 September 2014 to 19 November 2014. The research instruments used to collect data were observation sheets, field notes, interviews, and tests. The implementation of shared writing shows the improvement of students writing skills in short essay writing. It can be seen from the increase in students’ scores. The average score of students in cycle 1 was 60.8 and in cycle 2 was 73.7. Then, the factors that influence the student's ability improvement are interesting teaching materials, lecturer's strategy, lecturer's role, interaction between students and writing exercises of students in following all the procedures on the strategy

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out whether example non-example strategy can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive, and to find out what factors influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill in writing descriptive text. This research was Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, which each cycle had three meetings. It was conducted from August 1st until August 31th.The researcher gathered the data in each cycles from observation checklist, field notes, interviews, and writing test. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Example non-example strategy was able to improve the students’ writing skill of descriptive text through the process of comprehending the students, and assisting the students while they were writing. As the results, the students could improve their writing skill which involved the improvement of mean score of writing indicators; vocabulary, content/ideas, and organization. Moreover, it could be seen from the improvement of their mean score of basic score (56), test I (h62.5), and test II (79.4). Furthermore, the factors that influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill involved materials, media, and learning strategy. To sum up, the implementation of Example non-example strategy in teaching writing of descriptive text could provide positive results on their writing skill

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the factors that influence the students’ difficulties in describing places based on internal and external factors. The subject of this research consists 24 students. The method used in this study was Descriptive Analysis. The data            of this research were gathered through quiz and interview questions. The techniques of data analysis used quantitative and qualitative analysis. The researcher obtained the score of the quiz result were 66,5%. It was categorized fair good. And the factor that influence the students’ difficulties based on indicator of speaking in observation checklist were students still embarrassed, lack of vocabulary and grammar, difficulties in pronouncing word and difficulties in developing ideas while speaking. The factors that influence the students’ difficulties comes from the internal factors and external factors. From internal factors were Readiness to learn which is 40%, interest and talent is 73%, physiological is 46% and intelligence is 88. From the external factors are teaching methods and curriculum. Teaching methods is 26% and curriculum is 31%.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out how is the Students' Motivation in Writing Personal Letter at Grade XI of MA Nurul Falah Airmolek and to find out about what are the Factors that Influence the Students’ Motivation in Writing Personal Letter at Grade XI of MA Nurul Falah Airmolek. The subject of this research consists 20 students at Grade XI MA Nurul Falah Airmolek. The method used in this study is descriptive research. The data of this research were described based on the students’ condition and giving questionnaire then interview. The techniques of data analysis used qualitative analysis. The qualitative analysis is used to count the percentage of the students’ answer the questionnaire. The researcher collects data though observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. By analyzing the students’ observation and answer the questionnaire sheet. The researcher obtained the questionnaire result were 73%. It can be concluded that the students’ motivation at grade XI of MA Nurul Falah Airmolek is in good category. The factors that influence the students’ motivation from the internal factors were health got 67%%, interest got 52%, talent got 56%, motivation 58%. The most factors that influence is health. It got 67% of the students were good health. The factors that influence the students’ motivation from the external factors were Family got 62%, school got 87% and surrounding environment got 65%. School is the most factor that influences the students’ motivation in writing personal letter because the teacher's efforts in teaching students such as using interesting methods or media will generate motivation student learning.  Key Word: The Students’ Motivation, Writing, Personal Letter
