Abstract

This study aims to examine the efforts of teachers in optimizing the reading skill of first grade elementary school students during the pandemic, examine the responses of teachers and parents, and examine the difficulties experienced by teachers and parents in teaching students to read during the pandemic. The research method used is the case study method. The research instruments used were documentation, observation sheets and interviews. The results of this study are the first teacher's efforts in optimizing the reading skill of 1st grade elementary school students during the pandemic is to create a "reading motivation" group with the method of reading a book "read" one day one page that is shared every day in the group. Second, the response of parents is that they feel that the group is a solution to reading problems, motivates students to be more active in learning to read, and it can be facilitates students’ to manage their time. Third, the difficulty experienced by teachers is Hard to communicate with students or hard to motivate students directly, parents who have work activities outside the home so that it is difficult to teach children. The difficulties experienced by parents were obtained using an interview instrument using the google form platform.

Abstract

Sehingga pembelajaran berlangsung kurang efektif.

Abstract

This research was intended to describe a implementation of differentiated learning, Analysing student's mathematical repetent abilities, as well as analyzing the objective of fractional material learning classes by applying differentialized learning. Mathematical representation capabilities are essential applied to iv sd students, because to find the student's way of thinking of conveying mathematical ideas from abstract to concrete.Through learning differentiated students can learn based on their learning readiness rate so that students can follow learning easily and effectively. This research uses a method of study of class action (ptk ).The application of learning is different from the results of observation revealed that students can learn more actively by the way teachers give a learning experience based on students' readiness and using concrete media.Students' mathematical representation skills are increasing.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The study aims to investigate not only the fundamental mathematical knowledge of primary school students but also their mathematical representation skills, as these are essential for applying mathematical concepts in everyday life. Methodology: A descriptive research design was employed without any treatment. The instrument included a test measuring representation skills through three indicators: forming equations or models from given representations, drawing diagrams to clarify and solve problems, and composing stories based on given representations. Secondary data were gathered through field notes and analysed using descriptive statistics, followed by triangulation with observation results. Main Findings: The findings reveal that students’ mathematical representation skills remain underdeveloped. The lowest performance was observed in the indicator involving drawing diagrams to support problem-solving. These results suggest a mismatch between students' learning needs and current instructional strategies, underscoring the need to implement differentiated and inclusive approaches to better support diverse learners. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study introduces a validated diagnostic test administered prior to the main assessment, ensuring the reliability and validity of the research results. This approach minimises bias and provides a more accurate portrayal of students' actual representation abilities, offering new insights into differentiated learning in mathematics education.
