Abstract

Abstract: This article is a book review created by Ibtisam Abu-Duhou's entitled School Based Management. This is very representative book as one of the main references in understanding the school-based management (SBM) concept, since it was compiled at the very beginning when the SBM concept was introduced in Indonesia. This book consists of five chapters. The discussion begins with a review of the basic concepts, origins and character of SBM decentralization. The first chapter examines the main character of reforms and education management aspects relatively centralistic and decentralized. The second chapter discusses some research in English-speaking countries to provide answers and concrete evidence from the SBM movement. The third chapter describes the radical overall implementation of SBM in Victoria, Australia. The fourth chapter provides an example of the approach and efforts made by policy makers in identifying problems. The fifth chapter elaborates further on the material in the previous chapters to summarize the reform main characters. One consequence of implementing SBM is the realization of community participation, even as spirit and substance. Community participation is a concept of school empowerment in order to improve the quality and school independence. In implementing the SBM concept, community participation has many forms, both in educational, cultural or institutional interaction patterns.

Abstract

Tradition of reading diba’iyah is recognized as one of culture form. This activity comes from religious Arabic literature. It is an old literary book, but still accepted by the wider community today. This article discusses a planting of character values form carried out through habituation at jam’iyah diba’iyah in Gambang Plumbon Gudo Jombang. Data collecting technique in this research are interview, observation and documentation. This research concludes that Hidayatul Mubtadi’in is the name of the activity aimed to form muslim generations who have high character, conducted every Saturday night by reading Shalawat together in rhythm. The next, the teenage character of Plumbon Gambang is poor because the environmental factor does not support the diba’iyah activity and parents pay less attention to their children. The last is the cultivating of character value to the teenage through habituation methods by four stages, such as approaching the members, giving mauidzah hasanah, warning and educative punishments. Tradisi pembacaan diba’iyah diakui sebagai salah satu bentuk yang berakar dari kultural. Kegiatan ini berasal dari karya sastra Arab keagamaan atau sastra kitab yang sudah begitu tua dan masih diterima masyarakat luas dari waktu ke waktu. Artikel ini mengkaji bentuk-bentuk penanaman nilai-nilai karakter yang diwujudkan dalam bentuk pembiasaan pada jam’iyah iba’iyah di Desa Plumbon Gambang Gudo Jombang. Tulisan field research ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan berupa wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Kesimpulan tulisan ini meliputi tiga hal. Pertama adalah kegiatan komunitas diba’iyah di desa ini bernama Hidayatul Mubtadi’in yang bertujuan membentuk generasi muslim berkarakter mulia, dilaksanakan secara rutin Sabtu malam, di dalamnya dilakukan pembacaan shalawat Nabi Muhammad Saw dari kitab Maulid al-Diba’i secara berjamaah disertai irama lagu. Kedua adalah bahwa karakter anak Desa Plumbon Gambang dikategorikan kurang baik, karena faktor lingkungan yang tidak mendukung kegiatan diba’iyah dan orang tua juga kurang memperhatikan anaknya. Ketiga adalah proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter pada anak melalui jam’iyah diba’iyah ini dengan memakai metode pembiasaan, yang melalui empat tahapan, yaitu melakukan pendekatan kepada anggota, memberikan mauidzah hasanah, anggota diberi peringatan dan hukuman yang mendidik.
