Abstract

Education is not only teaching that emphasizes on cognitive aspects, mastery of academic subjects, and not the development of the character of students towards the environmental reality which is religiously pluralistic. Therefore, although many educational institutions teach about the differences and respect for pluralism and comparative religion, it only comes to a cognitive understanding of each religion and does not know how to behave outside the religious discipline. It has big impact on humanitarian crises, not only at a concrete level in the form of physical culture, but also in non-physical forms which related to changes in attitudes, behavior and values of life. The presence of the Sai Study Group Denpasar (SSGD) religious study group gave a new model to the pattern of religious education amidst the polarization of the development of religious study groups in Bali, especially in the formation of intellectual and character building. Religious education at SSGD contains acts of cognition, not just transfer of knowledge, verbalism, and education banking.

Being a holy person in the teachings of Hinduism is a noble task as a guide for the people. This is because being a holy person, especially a Hindu priest, goes through various stages that must be passed as a process of maturation (learning) and purification (diksa). In the maturation process, which is filled with learning the Vedas and religious knowledge, it is used as a foundation later when after becoming a priest in guiding and providing enlightenment to people who need service. While the purification process is an aspect of legality in the ritual dimension which is believed to be able to physically purify someone who enters the spiritual dimension.

Abstract

The teachings of divinity in the upaniṣads position God as a concept that is personified into various forms of attributes according to the use it has. This shows that God exists and has a duty and function in life. In this situation, a divine identity will emerge, which depends so much on the function it has and depends on how people believe in it, even though in fact God is singular. Man himself is one part in which there is a cause of life which is the smallest part of God, namely the atma. With this atma, humans can actually connect themselves transcendentally with God. This can be done if you are able to carry out sadhana diligently and sincerely.

Abstract

The development of Hinduism in the archipelago, especially in Bali, originated from the teachings of the Vedas which were then translated into various forms of lontar literature. The lontar work which is a development of the Vedas written in accordance with local culture makes it easier for them to understand religious teachings so that this library is then used as a reference for them to believe in Hinduism. With this understanding, it shows that the development of the Hindu religious teaching system in the archipelago and Bali in particular is a derivative of the Vedic understanding which is rewritten in various lontars containing ideas and ideas according to the culture of the people. This is then the basis for Hinduism that is flexible and naturalistic that can be accepted in the religious system in the archipelago.

Abstract

Syncretism puts the fusion of two religious teachings/beliefs into one unit which makes it have its own peculiarities. This idea shows that the syncriticalism of Hindu-Confucian beliefs found in the Penyagjagan Temple of Bangli Regency is a long history of trade relations or other expansions between Balinese (Hindu) and Chinese (Confucian) which are inherited in the system of worship and social relations. Penyagjagan Temple as a Hindu-Confucian union as a sign that two different teachings can merge in the temple environment (mandala). The union is not only in temples with Hindu and Confucian nuances, but also in the system of worship (mantra) and upakara means. This makes syncretism give birth to a religious identity as a symbolic that characterizes the peculiarities of the religious and cultural system of the Hindu-Confucian community that worships the Penyagjagan Temple.
