Abstract

The IAIN Kudus library has three corner services that can be used by the entire academic community on the IAIN Kudus campus. The three corner services are the IAIN Kudus corner, the religious moderation corner, and the Asia Foundation corner. This study aims to find out what strategic functions can be applied to the corner service at the IAIN Kudus Library so that the corner service can support the role of the IAIN Kudus Library as a central source of information for the entire academic community at IAIN Kudus. This research was conducted with a descriptive research approach. The object of research is the three service corners in the IAIN Kudus Library. The data collection method used in this research is through observation data collection methods and data collection methods through literature studies. The observation data collection method was used by researchers to observe the corner services in the IAIN Kudus Library. Then the literature study used is through books and journal articles which according to the researcher are in accordance with the research theme. The data that has been obtained in this study were then analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the strategic functions that can be applied at the corner service of the IAIN Kudus Library include the identity function, deposit-promotive function, learning support function, collaborative function, and research function.

Abstract

Introduction. IAIN Kudus Library has a plan to implement Sapa Pustakawan service as part of an information retrieval service to support reference services in satisfying users’ the information needs.. This study examines the concept of the service that planned to be applied at IAIN Kudus Library. Data Collection Methods. This paper used a descriptive qualitative approach by using interviews supporting by document studies. Data Analysis. The data from the interviews with the head of the IAIN Kudus Library and librarians of IAIN Kudus Library about the Sapa Pustakawan services were analysed by involving related references and theories to obtain several concepts. Results and Discussions. The results indicate that in order to implement Sapa Pustakawan, the library manager needs to pay attention to some aspects namely place, product, human resources (librarian), and promotion. Conclusion. The study shows that Sapa Pustakawan plays a signifincat role in helping users for reference services including anti-plagiarism by implementing those aformentioned aspects.

Abstract

Kegiatan user education pada perpustakaan perguruan tinggi merupakan sebuah kegiatan yang memberikan pengetahuan dan informasi kepada para pemustaka tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan perpustakaan secara baik dan benar. Sebagai sebuah perpustakaan perguruan tinggi, Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus menjadikan kegiatan user education bagi mahasiswa baru sebagai sebuah agenda rutin yang dilaksanakan setiap awal tahun ajaran baru. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk melakukan analisis tentang bagaimana pelaksanaan user education Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus pada tahun akademik 2021/2022. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode observasi partispasi serta diperkaya dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan metode studi literatur. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, 1) Pelaksanaan user education Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus tahun akademik 2021/2022 dilaksanakan dengan penyesuaian sesuai protokol kesehatan covid-19 karena dilaksanakan pada masa pandemi. 2) Pelaksanaan user education Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus tahun akademik 2021/2022 dilaksanakan dengan model orientasi perpustakaan dan model pengajaran perpustakaan. 3) Beberapa hal yang menjadi titik evaluasi dalam kegiatan user education ini antara lain adalah data mahasiswa, jadwal pelaksanaan, durasi pelaksanaan, promosi kegiatan, dan permasalahan yang bersifat teknis. 4) Tim pustakawan mempunyai peran yang sangat sentral dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan user education ini, peran tersebut antara lain terwujud dalam bentuk peran pemateri dan peran manajerial pelaksanaan kegiatan.

Abstract

Through the research in this paper, the author analyzes the problems that arise during the implementation of online-based user education activities at the IAIN Kudus Library. This research was conducted with a qualitative research approach. The data collection method is carried out in two ways, namely non-systematic observation and using the library research method. The method of collecting data through library research is a method of collecting data through books and journal articles which according to the author can support the discussion in this paper. The results of this study indicate that the main problem in online-based user education activities at the IAIN Kudus Library during the pandemic is the problem of information literacy skills, communication problems, and technical problems. The results obtained in this study are expected to be an input, especially for the IAIN Kudus Library and other libraries in general in carrying out user education activities in the future.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, user education activities at the IAIN Kudus Library were held online. This activity is a form of adaptation carried out by the IAIN Kudus Library to continue to be able to work effectively and efficiently in serving users during the pandemic. As an activity that is fully online, it requires a very complex role from the librarian so that it can be carried out optimally. This study aims to discuss how the librarian of the IAIN Kudus Library implements the role of the blended librarian in the implementation of the user education activities. This research was conducted with a descriptive qualitative research method. The data collection method used in this research is through the observation method combined with the literature study method. The results of this study indicate that online-based user education activities at the IAIN Kudus Library can run smoothly because librarians at the IAIN Kudus Library can apply the role of blended librarians in carrying out these activities. The forms of blended librarian's roles include academic librarian, IT librarian, communicative librarian, teaching librarian, and manager.

Abstract

The Sapa Pustakawan Online Service is an online-based information search service at the IAIN Kudus Library. The service utilizes Telegram's social media as a service medium for users. This study aims to analyze how the application of the Sapa Pustakawan Online service at the IAIN Kudus Library. This research was conducted using a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type of research. The data collection methods used in this study include observation, interview methods, and literature study methods. The observation method is used to make observations on service activities by librarians to users in the telegram group Sapa Pustakawan Online at IAIN Kudus Library. Then, the interview method was used to extract research data from the Head of the IAIN Kudus Library and the librarian at the IAIN Kudus Library regarding the application of the Sapa Pustakawan Online service. The method of collecting data through literature study is extracting data by using literature sources that are in accordance with the research theme. From the research, it can be concluded that the Sapa Pustakawan Online service is able to provide easy information search services, fast information search services, and capable information search services.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelayanan di dalam sebuah Perpustakaan tentunya melibatkan interaksi antara pustakawan dengan pengguna Perpustakaan. Pengguna Perpustakaan yang memiliki latar belakang sosial, ekonomi, bahkan pendidikan yang berbeda mengakibatkan terbentuknya keanekaragaman perilaku dari pengguna Perpustakaan dalam memanfaatkan jasa Perpustakaan. Pustakawan sebagai representasi dari lembaga Perpustakaan dituntut untuk selalu memberikan pelayanan yang prima kepada pengguna Perpustakan tanpa kurang suatu apapun. Seorang pustakawan yang baik harus mampu memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan pendekatan psikologis dengan pengguna Perpustakaan agar dapat beradaptasi dengan perilaku pengguna Perpustakaan yang beraneka ragam. Kemampuan pendekatan psikologis tersebut tentu harus diawali dengan kemampuan seorang pustakawan untuk dapat mengenal faktor-faktor psikologis apa saja yang dapat membentuk perilaku pengguna Perpustakaan. Oleh karena itu, melalui tulisan ini penulis akan mengenalkan faktor-faktor psikologis yang membentuk perilaku pengguna Perpustakaan, dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode penelitian deskriptif melalui library research .

Abstract

Kelas zotero adalah kelas literasi informasi yang diselenggarakan oleh Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus. Kelas zotero dapat diikuti oleh seluruh pemustaka yang menjadi anggota aktif Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus Dalam kelas tersebut, pemustaka diberikan keterampilan untuk dapat menggunakan aplikasi zotero untuk mengelola referensi dan membuat sitasi dalam pembuatan karya ilmiah. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk melakukan analisis terhadap motivasi pemustaka dalam mengikuti kelas zotero tersebut dengan perspektif teori motivasi McClelland. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian kualitatif yang bertipe deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan dua jenis metode pengumpulan data. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara dan metode studi literatur. Data penelitian yang telah didapatkan melalui metode wawancara dan studi literatur kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori motivasi McClelland. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa motivasi pemustaka dalam mengikuti kelas zotero di Perpustakaan IAIN Kudus didorong oleh kebutuhan pemustaka untuk berprestasi dan kebutuhan pemustaka untuk berafilisasi. Dalam penelitian ini tidak ditemukan motivasi pemustaka yang didorong oleh kebutuhan untuk berkuasa.
