Abstract

Women weight before pregnancy and weight gain during pregnancy are the main determinants of the baby's weight at the end. Women with low body weight (for example <55 kg) before pregnancy who achieved a slight increase in body weight (<4500 grams) during pregnancy had a higher incidence of giving birth to babies with low birth weight than mothers with greater weight who reached more a lot of weight gain during pregnancy (Benson, 2009: 135). The purpose of this study was to determine women weight gain during pregnancy with birth weight. This research design uses "Cross Sectional". The independent variable is the weight of pregnant women and the dependent variable is the weight of the newborn. The population in this study were all mothers with babies at birth in UPT Puskesmas Dlanggu, Mojokerto Regency. A sample of 50 respondents was taken using consecutive sampling techniques. Data analysis used fisher exact test with α = 0.05.The results showed that most pregnant women gained weight in the normal category of 36 people (72.0%). The majority of babies born underweight did not experience underweight, namely 42 people (84.0%). Fisher exact test results = 0.004 <0.05 so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means there is a relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy and the baby's birth weight at UPT Puskesmas Dlanggu, Mojokerto Regency.Women weight / before pregnancy and weight gain of pregnant women need to get attention because there is a clear relationship with the weight and development of the fetus in the uterus. Health workers should always provide education about nutritional needs during pregnancy and also monitor the development of pregnant women and the fetus so that immediate action can be taken if found abnormalities in pregnancy. Keywords: Increase in Maternal Weight During Pregnancy, Baby Birth Weight

Abstract

A woman's menstrual cycle is influenced by the Body Mass Index. This is caused by the presence of fat that accumulates in a woman's body which can affect the body temperature levels which will cause irregular menstruation. The research objective was to determine the relationship between the Body Mass Index and the menstrual pattern of female adolescents in Gebangmalang Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency. This type of research uses analytical research. The independent variable is the Body Mass Index, while the dependent variable is the menstrual pattern. The study population was all young women in Gebangmalang Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency as many as 430 people with a sample of 207 people who were taken using simple random sampling. The instrument for calculating BMI used microtoise and weight scales, while for menstrual patterns used an interview sheet. The results showed that of the 93 respondents who had normal BMI experienced normal menstrual patterns as many as 77 people (83%). The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test at the level of significance α = 0.05 indicated that ρ = 0.000, which means that there is a relationship between the Body Mass Index and the menstrual pattern of young women. Young women who have a high Body Mass Index tend to experience menstrual pattern disorders. For this reason, it is recommended that young women pay attention to body weight and BMI so that they do not experience interference with their menstrual patterns.

Abstract

According to the current data there are thousands of Posyandu that are lost, both in terms of activities, existence, and physically. While the number of active cadres is also decreasing, it is feared that it can significantly reduce the reach of health services. Health cadres around the community must have a high level of knowledge about health that occurs in the community. Health cadres are the right target in the implementation of health programs because they are considered as the first place of reference for health services, (Wang et al, 2012). The purpose of this community service is to revitalize toddler posyandu through health cadre training. The training method used is the method of lecture, discussion, role play and mentoring, the target is health cadres in Sumbertebu Village, Bangsal District, Mojokerto Regency, carrying out activities from September to November 2018. Data analysis uses frequency distribution. The results obtained were as many as 26 trainees with the results of the means pre test 49.62 and post test 92.69. The result is a significant increase in knowledge 0,000 with a value of t = -17.93, and 95% CI between -48.03 - -38.13, meaning that the effect is strong because it does not pass the number 1; giving treatment can increase 3 - 4x knowledge compared to not given. Whereas for the assistance of posyandu activities for toddlers, the presence of health cadres and community leaders is on average 7 people. Participants in the training of health cadres were enthusiastic about the material presented, the participants were active in the discussion activities with evidence of feedback. The lack of knowledge of health cadres resulted in a lack of understanding of health cadres on the role and importance of posyandu activities, which led to low visits to posyandu. Support from families, community leaders and health workers is needed to always motivate health cadres in carrying out their duties at the Posyandu every month.
