Abstract

The objective of this research are to investigate pre-service teachers’ speaking anxiety in EFL classroom. The subject of this research was 40 pre-service teachers of STKIP Al Hikmah Surabaya Indonesia. The research design of this study is descriptive qualitative research. The main single instrument used in this research was questionnaire. The questionnaire used in the form of Likert scale which was adopted and developed from Horwitz. In this study, questionnaire was applied as the single instruments. In analyzing data, an interactive data analysis model proposed by Miles M.B and Huberman A.M (1984) was used. The result of the study were: (1) All pre service teachers experienced speaking anxiety in EFL classroom. (2) There are five major areas of speaking anxiety experienced by pre service teachers in EFL classroom namely fear of interaction, fear of perception of others, low self esteem and lack of confidence, language proficiency, and error correction or fear of negative corection.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melaporkan hasil analisis kegiatan monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan perkuliahan daring atau Belajar dari Rumah (BDH) di STKIP Al Hikmah Surabaya di semester genap tahun akademik 2019/2020. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 33 dosen dari 5 program studi yang ada di STKIP Al Hikmah Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner monitoring dan evaluasi perkuliahan daring harian yang wajib diisi oleh seluruh dosen seusai mengampu mata kuliah. Hasil penelitian ini dikategorikan dalam 5 aspek besar yaitu: 1) aplikasi perkuliahan daring yang paling sering digunakan dosen, 2) aktifitas perkuliahan daring yang paling sering dilaksanakan dosen, 3) persentase tingkat pengumpulan tugas terstruktur/ portofolio, 4) tingkat partisipasi mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan daring, 5) hambatan/tantangan yang paling sering dihadapi dosen dalam pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT  Writing becomes one of fundamental skills in learning language. In tis digital era, when everything is possible to be done in online,  the students prefer to easily find some references in the websites or other online sources. The students hesitate to produce their own ideas in that they can get anything they want on the internet. This cases take a big part of the quality of the students in mastering writing skill. Thus, the teachers should have many alternative to help the students, more to EFL stuents to improve their writing performance through such an online based-learning. Grammarly is one of possible solution can be taken as the students writing assistant while the teachers giving some exercises. The students will be helpful working on Grammarly in that they will be able to produce any languages they know, then Grammarly will take a place to help them correct their work.   Â
