Abstract

Technology is an essential reference in all aspects. Technology provides significant changes in education part, especially in learning mathematics. Technology has an impact on the innovation space in mathematics learning, the problems so far tend to be less attractive, the environment is boring and very tied to reading materials, which results in students still not being able to develop their mathematical thinking process optimally, namely students' mathematical understanding is still low. Students' mathematical understanding is one of the most important capabilities that students should have to solve various problems, both mathematical problems for instance problems related to concepts, operations, principles, and in daily life. So that innovation in learning with the influence of learning technology is important to apply. The aim of this study was to develop students' conceptual understanding of transformation geometry using Geogebra software. This study used exploratory mixed methods designs that aimed to describe students' understanding of mathematics by learning using Geogebra software. The results of the study indicate that usage Geogebra software can develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the transformation geometry, and assisted teachers create an interesting and fun learning process, teachers find the right procedures in using applications such as the use of different software and techniques in learning mathematics, making it easier for students to understand the abstract material of transformation geometry. The results of this study are focused on test analysis, namely exploring students' mathematical understanding, data can also be obtained from interview techniques that explore test answers, in the form of 2 problems related to transformation geometry. The results of the study indicate that are 5 criteria that have met the students' understanding of mathematics from 7 indicators.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan/korelasi antara Program tahfidz Al-Qur’an dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa SD Muhammadiyah 2 Langsa. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SD SD Muhammadiyah 2 Langsa yang berjumlah 353 siswa. Sedangkan sampel penelitian berjumlah 35 siswa atau 10% dari populasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan dokumentasi skor hasil belajar matematika dan tahfidz Al-Qur’an. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan korelasi product moment dari Pearson dengan terlebih dahulu melakukan uji prasyarat yakni uji normalitas dan linieritas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat dan searah (positif) antara tahfidz Al-Qur’an dan hasil belajar matematika siswa SD Muhammadiyah 2 Langsa dengan korelasi sebesar 6,17. Sumbangan efektif tahfidz Al-Qur’an dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa sebesar 38,1% sedangkan 61,9% ditentukan oleh faktor lain.

Abstract

Menjadi problem solver adalah tujuan dari proses pembelajaran. Kemampuan ini dapat tercapai jika dilatihkan secara terus-menerus kepada siswa dengan menjadikan siswa menguasai berbagai kemampuan matematika. Salah satunya menguasai kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan strategi scaffolding lebih baik dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang diajarkan secara konvensional. Quasi-experimental design digunakan sebagai rancangan dalam penelitian ini. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 182 siswa dari SMPN 1 Tamiang Hulu, Aceh, Indonesia. Sedangkan sampel berjumlah 52 orang yang terdiri atas kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas VIII3 dan kelas kontrol, kelas VIII4. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Instumen yang digunakan yaitu soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variable berjumlah 5 soal dan berbentuk uraian. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi scaffolding lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang diajarkan secara konvensial.AbstractTo be a problem solver is a learning instruction goal. This ability will achieve if students will be trained and learnt continuously to comprehend any mathematical skills. One of them is to have ability in problem solving skills. The aim of this study was to determine whether students’ problem-solving ability learnt by using the scaffolding strategy was better than students’ problem-solving ability learnt by using a conventional model or not. The quasi-experimental design was used as research design in this study. The population was a total 182 students of grade VIII of SMPN 1 Tamiang Hulu, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, Indonesia. while the sample was 52 students which consist of two groups, namely class VIII3 as an experiment group and class VIII4 as a control group. The data was collected by using technique test. There were 5 questions about system of two linear equation was tested to measure the problem-solving ability of students. The results showed that students’ problem-solving ability learnt by using the scaffolding strategy is better than students’ problem-solving ability learnt by using a conventional model.

Abstract

Islamic values are the basis of reference in efforts to improve students' character and attitudes. The low value of students character is a scourge of today's problems. This study aims to determine the development of students' curiosity through the integration of Islamic values in mathematics learning. This research is a qualitative exploratory. Data were collected by using interviews and observations. The instruments used were observation sheets and interview guidelines to determine the development of curiosity. The subjects were three students at the Mathematics Education Department, FTIK IAIN Langsa. The results showed that two subjects have developed four indicators of curiosity: namely always asking questions, not accepting something learning as boring, showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and showing pleasure in learning. Meanwhile, there is one subject but there is one subject that does not develop curiosity on indicators showing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The results of study support theories stating that the integration of learning mathematics and Islamic values has a positive impact on students character. Therefore, this research can be considered for the Faculty of Education to further develop learning that integrating science and Islamic values in curriculum development as an effort to develop student character.
