Abstract

Abstract

Cellulose from the solid waste of seaweed Eucheuma cottonii is one of the wastes that can be used as raw material for making biodegradable films. The condition for making optimum conditions for making biodegradable film from E. cottonii with treatment of glycerol concentration (0; 0,25; 0,5; 0,75; and 1%), tapioca concentration (2; 4; 6; 8; and 10%) , carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) concentration (1; 2; 3; 4and 5%) and chitosan concentration (1; 2; 3; 4; and 5 The experimental design uses a surface response method with 4 replications. The analysis carried out consisted of elongation percent, tensile strength, solubility and biodegradable film using surface response method. The optimum value occurs in the process conditions using a concentration of glycerol of 0.162%, tapioca concentration of 3.78%, CMC concentration of 2.5% and chitosan concentration of 1.62% with tensile strength 95.013 Mpa, percent elongation of 8.92%, and solubility 80.62%.

Abstract

Used newsprint is one of the most potential materials to be recovered into pulp raw material. The problem is the color of newsprint that requires bleaching process. One of the oxidizing agents used for bleaching is the peroxide acid in the acetic acid medium. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of peroxide acid concentration in acetic acid media and the duration of heating to the chemical properties of pulp produced. The best results were obtained at 12% per oxide acid concentration in acetic acid medium and 5 hour heating time, yielding 58.653% cellulose, hemicellulose 9,033%, lignin 22,683%, and color score 4,503% (rather white).

Abstract

Fish proccessed product is a favorite food that contain high protein in Indonesia, such as, otak-otak ikan. The aim of this research was to observe of phatogen bacteria contaminant on fish proccessed product, ex. Salmonella sp., Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This research was had done on food proccessed product, used random sampling technicque, at traditional markets. The result data was arranged with descriptive statistic. The result research showed that contaminant of Escherichia coli was 1.54 x 102 colony/ ml at Tani market; 0.3 x 101 colony/ml at Gudang Lelang market. Fish proccessed product was contaminated by Salmonella, too. This research found that Fish proccessed product at Tamin, Tani and Rajabas was Salmonella contaminant detected. The Fish proccessed product that content the highest level of Stahpylococcus aureus were at Tugu narket (1,07 x 102 colony/ml) and Gudang Lelang market (1,12 x 102 colony/ml).
