Abstract

Hermeneutic methods are a way to understand and interpret sentences or the contents of a sentence. Hermeneutics examines problems, methods and objectives of interpretation or interpretation. This science helps to determine the true meaning of the text accurately and includes factors such as history, culture, cultural diversity, language, and the distance between the formulation of the contents of the text, the interpreter, the context, and others. Hermeneutics is also seen as a science of aids in formulating rules, principles, and methodologies for interpreting religion, scripture and its relationship with society. The interpretation of the Qur‘an has been going on since the early era of Islam, that is, from the time of the Messenger of Allah, the Companions, tabi'in (followers), tabi 'al-tabi'in (followers of followers), and the ulama to the present. Qur‘anic science and the Qur'anic exegesis began to develop since the 2nd century oh hijri and so did the interpretation method of the Qur‘an. This study attempts to explain the use of hermeneutic methods as a form of philosophical interpretation in understanding the Qur‘an. This study also examines the use of hermeneutics in the West, for example in interpreting the Bible as a comparative analysis

Abstract

This study discusses the contribution of Arent Jan Wensinck in the science of takhrīj Hadith. Using the literature study method, this paper Arent Jan Wensinck contribution was in the science of takhrīj Hadith. Through searching the data contained in books, journals related to the topic, this study finds that Arent’s concept about the index of Hadith helps reviewer and users to find the intended hadith easier and faster.

Abstract

This paper wants to prove how Said Nursi's efforts to persuade humans to become meaningful (ma’nawi) humans through his interpretation of Risālah al-Nūr. This tafsir, which is more Kalam and Isyāri (Sufi) in style, was Nursi's answer to his anxiety in facing the challenges of modernity in Turkey at that time (and is still relevant today). In the context of human nature, Nursi is aware that modernity has made humans fall into an attitude which he calls tafrid and ifrat in using his every senses (outer and inner senses). Therefore, with the characteristics and originality of his interpretation, he describes how people can return to their nature, namely by behaving 'adl or tawasut in all things. This is the man that he later calls as a meaningful human being. The methods that the author used in this research are descriptive-analysis methods and library research, by making tafsir Risālah al-Nūr and tafsir Isyārāt al-I’jāz as primary sources, then supported by other secondary books which are still related to the theme.

Abstract

This paper discusses the characteristics, and methods of interpretation of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd. Using the descriptive-analytic method, the study answers the question of how are the characteristics of Tarjumān al-Mustafīd, written by ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf? The writer finds that although the author of this tafsir had served as a mufti during the reign of the Sulṭānah Safiat al-Dīn Tāj al-ʻAlām (1641-1675), but — as far as the writer could observe, no political influence was found in this book of commentary. Moreover, although ‘Abd al-Rā'uf was a mursyīd of the Syattariyah tariqah, he did not give much nuance to his book of tafsir. At the same time, this finding rejects the assumption that Tarjumān al-Mustafīd can be characterized to have sufi nuances in it.

Abstract

Muhammad Asad, one of the interpreters in the modern age from the West, is known as a figure whose views are quite progressive and contextual. However, there is little research that shows that in some of cases-Asad’s views also tend to be textual. This paper wants to show where the textuality and contextual interpretations of Muhammad Asad are, especially in some Islamic political matters. For instance, issues of Democracy and Shura, non-Muslim leaders and Jinayat Law. To analyze the above problems, the writer uses primary data in the form of his interpretation of The Message of the Qur’an and The Principle of State and Government in Islam. The method that the writer use is a comparative method with historical analysis and textual-contextual approach initiated by Abdullah Saeed

Abstract

Abstrak:Mutu pendidikan sangat ditentukan oleh kemampuan satuan pendidikan dalam mengelola proses pembelajaran. Penilaian merupakan bagian yang sangat penting dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian, pendidik dapat mengambil keputusan secara tepat untuk menentukan langkah yang harus dilakukan selanjutnya. Penilaian hasil pembelajaran merupakan kewajiban yang harus ditunaikan oleh setiap guru maupun dosen dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui, hasil penilaian juga dapat memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didik untuk berprestasi lebih baik. Teknik penilaian dapat dilakukan secara komplementer (saling melengkapi) sesuai dengan kompetensi yang dinilai.Kata Kunci: Teknik, Penilaian, Belajar.

Abstract

Abstrak:Ada keberkaitan erat antara kajian mengenai pengetahuan dan kajian mengenai bahasa sebagai media untuk mengungkapkan apa yang diketahui. Para filsuf umumnya tertarik untuk membahas hubungan antara pikiran, kata dan realitas. Sebagian dari mereka telah tiba pada sebuah kesimpulan bahwa ternyata kata-kata berada di persimpangan jalan: apakah ia ingin mencerminkan apa yang ada di dalam pikiran ataukah ia ingin mencerminkan apa yang ada di dalam realitas. Kemudian bagaimana cara membedakan antara kalimat (proposisi) yang benar dari kalimat yang keliru. Analisis gramatikal berhenti hanya sebatas hubungan antara kalimat dengan kaidah-kaidah gramatikal sebagai uji kebenaran suatu proposisi. Tetapi bagaimana menguji kebenaran isi (properti, esensi, substansi) suatu proposisi? Banyak teori filosofis yang dikemukakan namun tetap saja bahwa seperti hal pikiran merupakan suatu misteri, kata-kata dan kalimat juga membentuk misterinya sendiri.

Abstract

In this modern-contemporary era, Muslims are often faced with the question, “Is it necessary to follow the teachings of the tarekat? Didn’t the tarekat (especially after al-Ghazali criticized the philosophical tradition) cause Muslims to decline and lose their critical power?” Moreover, some sufism teachings such as wahdatul wujud, wahdatus syuhud etc. Often considered as deviating from the pure teachings of Islam, especially by the Wahabi group. In order to answer some of these questions, the writer tries to present how Said Nursi responds in the interpretation of Risalah Nur. Nursi said that, "The present time is not the time of the tarekat." If it is not understood comprehensively, it will cause the reader to be inaccurate in concluding that generally Nursi rejects tarekat and some sufism teachings. That is why the writer wants to present which side of the teachings of tarekat and sufism that Nursi criticizes and what is his new offer. The research method that the author uses is library research with a socio-historical and descriptive-analysis approach using Risalah Nur as the primary source and several supporting books that are still related to the theme as a secondary source. The writer finds that sufism and tarekat are still important parts of Islamic teachings according to Nursi. But, he believes that what is more important now is to understand well the essense of religion rather than following the sufism path. He also concludes that the peak stage of sufism is ma’rifatullah.
