Abstract

AbstrakKenduri Sko merupakan tradisi pengukuhan gelar adat yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Kerinci. Di dalam tradisi itu terdapat berbagai piranti dan pepatah-petitih yang belum diketahui makna dan fungsinya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini hendak melihat makna dan fungsi tradisi lisan Kenduri Sko. Ada dua strategi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini,pertama, pengumpulan data dengan perekaman dan wawancara. Kedua, Kenduri Sko dilihat sebagai fakta semiotik dengan aspek empirik dan aspek nonempirik. Melalui aspek empirik dikaji piranti dan teks pepatah-petitih dalam pengukuhan pemangku adat, sedangkan aspek nonempirik dilihat secara keseluruhan tradisi Kenduri Sko sebagai kesadaran kolektif kebahasaan dan kesadaran kolektif kebudayaan. Metode berikutnya adalah dengan melihat fungsi-fungsi folklore menurut Bascom. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Kenduri Skoadalah warisan nenek moyang yang berupa benda pusaka, aturan-aturan, norma-norma, nilai-nilai, dan sebagai ucapan rasa syukur atas apa yang menjadi milik masyarakat Kerinci. Adapun fungsi Kenduri Sko adalah sebagai pengukuhan gelar adat, sistem nilai-nilai kolektif, edukasi bagi pewaris selanjutnya, dan menjadi alat kontrol dalam prilaku sosial masyarakat.Kata kunci: tradisi lisan, kenduri sko, semiotik, kesadaran kolektifAbstractKenduri Sko is a tradition of custom title inauguration held by the Kerinci society. In that tradition, there are various tools and wise words which their meaning and functions are not yet known. Therefore, this study wants to look at the meaning and function of Kenduri Sko oral tradition. Two strategies are used in this study. First, the data are collected by recording and interviewing. Second, Kenduri Sko seen as a semiotic fact with empirical and non-empirical aspects. Through the empirical aspect, petatah-petitih (customary rhyming wise words) text examined in the inauguration of customary stakeholders, while the non-empirical aspect seen as a whole of the Kenduri Sko tradition as collective language and cultural awareness. The next method is to look at the functions of folklore according to Bascom. This research found that Kenduri Sko is a legacy of ancestors in the form of heirlooms, rules, norms, values, and gratitude for what belongs to the Kerinci’s community. Kenduri Sko functions as an oath of customary titles, a system of collective values, education for the next heirs, and a means of control in people’s social behavior.Keywords: oral tradition, kenduri sko, semiotics, collective awareness

Abstract

Literary works known as authors’ desire manifestation.  In its history, a desire comes from the feeling of the lack of subject.  Writing a literary work becomes an effort to hide it.  The effort can be seen through an author’s point of view on ego ideal in his works.  Novel of Cermin Cinta is chosen as a sample in order to search what and how Nano Riantiarno’s desires are.  The aim is to find out the reflecting of Nano’s ego ideal.  This study uses Lacanian Psychoanalysis (PL).  Metaphor and metonymy will be used through PL in looking deeply the signs of Nano’s desire in Cermin Cinta.  This study finds out that a desire of becoming a writer and an artist has guided Nano unconsciously to other symbolic signs, such as being a ‘tough’,  ‘consistent’, ‘determined’, ‘diligent’ writer, etc. His effort in setting up a theatre community where he becomes the characters writer and director which was reached from the images of Rendra, Putu Wijaya, Arifin C. Noor, and Teguh Karya becomes his desire about the ontological intactness for his identity.  Besides, ‘Freedom’ becomes  ‘object a’ of Nano to get jouissance for himself.

Abstract

Kenduri Sko merupakan tradisi lisan masyarakat Kerinci yang masih dipertahankan sampai saat ini karena mengandung nilai-nilai filosofi sebagai praktik sosialkultural masyarakatnya. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan filosofi masyarakat Kerinci yang terdapat di dalam tradisi kenduri sko. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen penelitian, yaitu wawancara mendalam dengan pemangku adat dan ahli bahasa, serta membaca literatur yang relevan. Observasi partisipasi akan dilengkapi dengan alat rekam dan kamera sebagai dokumentasi. Selisik data menggunakan konsep falsafah ABS-SBK. Hasil selisik dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kenduri Sko adalah prosesi pengukuhan gelar adat yang dilaksanakan pada saat habis penen. Adapun filosofi masyarakat Kerinci dalam Kenduri Sko, yaitu1) filosofi keagamaan yang mewujud dalam bentuk ungkapan syukur dan terima kasih kepada Tuhan karena telah memberikan hasil panen sebagai sko; 2) filosofi kemanusiaan terimplementasi dalam ucapan syukur kepada Tuhan dan kepada leluhur yang telah memberikan sko ico pakai berupa tanah dan gelar adat, serta bagaimana nilai-nilai kemanusiaan itu dipraktikkan seperti menghargai, mengasihi, bekerja sama, dan menolong orang lain; 3) filosofi demokrasi dan musyawarah yang terimplementasi dalam pemberian gelar adat dengan sistem kerapatan; 4) filosofi sosial kemasyarakatan yang mewujud dalam bentuk penghargaan, penghormatan kepada Tuhan dan leluhur, tenggang rasa dan menghormati orang lain dalam musyawarah, kerja sama, gotong royong, dan hidup rukun di dalam masyarakat.Kenduri sko is an oral tradition of the Kerinci community which is still preserved today due to its philosophical values as the socio-cultural practice of the community. Therefore, this study aims to describe the philosophy of the Kerinci community in kenduri sko tradition. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques using research instruments, namely in-depth interviews with traditional stakeholders, linguists, as well as reading relevant literature. Participant observation was conducted by using recording devices and cameras as documentation. Data of this study were analyzed using the philosophy of ABS-SBK. The result of this study shows that Kenduri Sko is a procession of the inauguration of traditional titles carried out at the end of harvest time. The philosophy of Kerinci community that appears in Kenduri Sko namely: 1) The religious philosophy which manifests in the form of expressions of gratitude and thanks to God for giving the harvest as sko; 2) The philosophy of humanity is implemented in gratitude to God and ancestors who have given sko ico pakai in the form of land and traditional titles, as well as how human values are practiced such as respecting, loving, cooperating, and helping others; 3) The philosophy of democracy and deliberation implemented in the granting of custom titles through the customary deliberation system; 4) The social community philosophy that manifests in the form of appreciation, respect for God and ancestors, tolerance and respect for others in deliberation, cooperation, and harmony of life in the community.
