<![CDATA[Cervical cancer is ranked first in cancer in Indonesia and is ranked fifth in the world. The low level of knowledge about cervical cancer causes low motivation for women to prevent this disease. Women's motivation can be improved by providing health education. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education on the motivation to prevent cervical cancer, using pretest-posttest without control group design. Samples (70 people) were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that before counseling, the motivation in the good category was 54.1%, while after counseling was 94.3%. The results of the Wilcoxon signed-rank-test showed that health education was effective in increasing maternal motivation to prevent cervical cancer. Keywords: cervical cancer, health education, motivation ABSTRAK Kanker serviks menduduki peringkat pertama kanker di Indonesia dan peringkat kelima di dunia. Rendahnya pengetahuan tentang kanker serviks menyebabkan rendahnya motivasi wanita untuk melakukan pencegahan penyakit ini. Motivasi wanita dapat ditingkatkan dengan memberikan pendidikan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan terhadap motivasi untuk mencegah kanker servik, menggunakan pretest-posttest without control group design. Sampel (70 orang) dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum penyuluhan, motivasi dalam kategori baik adalah 54,1%, sedangkan sesudah penyuluhan adalah 94,3%. Hasil Wilcoxon signed-rank-test menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan kesehatan efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi ibu untuk mencegah kanker servik.
