Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the use of standard, platinum, and iridium spark plugs on fuel consumption on motorcycles supra x 125. The method used in this study is an experimental method or direct experiment. Turn on the motorbike, then increase the engine speed according to the design. Use a tachometer to measure the rpm whether it is in accordance with that set in the study. Use a stop watch to calculate the test time and after finishing see the results that have been obtained. By doing the no-load test 3 times in each experiment that you want to test. The results show that using platinum and iridium spark plugs can reduce fuel consumption.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk dapat mengetahui analisa pengaruh campuran premium dengan kapur barus (napthalen) terhadap emisi gas buang pada mesin supra X 125 cc untuk mengurangi tingkat polusi udara. Adapun metode yang digunakan pada tugas akhir ini adalah  metode penelitian Eksperimen dengan variasi campuran bahan bakar premium  dengan kapur barus (napthalen) adalah premium 1000 gr : 20 gr kapur barus (napthalen), premium 1000 gr : 40 gr kapur barus (napthalen), premium 1000 gr : 60 gr kapur barus (napthalen). Dengan variasi putaran mesin 1000, 2000 dan 3000 rpm. Dengan melakukan pengujian langsung mengunakan alat yang telah disediakan yaitu gas analyzer. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah variasi campuran bahan bakar premium dengan kapur barus (napthalen) mempunyai perbedaan kandungan emisi CO dan HC yang dihasilkan pada campuran premium dengan kapur barus (1000 gr : 20 gr) pada putaran 1000 rpm hasil CO = 2,43%, HC = 90,6 ppm. pada putaran 2000 rpm hasil CO = 1,96%, HC = 87,3 ppm. Pada putaran 3000 rpm hasil CO = 1,73%, HC = 83,3 ppm. Pada campuran (1000 gr : 40 gr). Pada putaran 1000 rpm hasil CO =2,53%, HC = 100,6 ppm. Pada putaran 2000 rpm hasil CO = 2,23%, HC = 97,3 ppm. Pada putaran 3000 rpm hasil CO = 1,96%, HC = 90,6 ppm. Pada campuran (1000 gr : 60 gr) pada putaran 1000 rpm hasil CO = 3,26%, HC = 115 ppm. Pada putaran 2000 rpm hasil CO = 3,3%, HC = 106,6 ppm. Pada putaran 3000 rpm hasil CO = 3,1%, HC = 100 ppm.

Abstract

The development of the automotive world experienced rapid development, and the most prominent development was in the ignition system. In this study will be discussed about the gasoline motor ignition system, especially the effect of spark plug gap on the power produced by the gasoline engine. The aim of research is to produce a good combustion process in the engine combustion chamber by determining the distance of the spark plug so that the sparks produced are perfect. The right spark plug gap will produce perfect combustion and the power produced will also be in accordance with the specifications of the engine. In order to maintain good spark plug work, it needs to be done in a maintenance manner to determine the extent of the effect of spark plug gap on the engine power of the gasoline motor. As for what will be examined in this study is the engine speed and engine power which is influenced by the distance of the spark plug to produce engine power on the gasoline motor. The method used in this study in the research is by using the direct method of conducting research in Cv. Prosperous motorbike. Materials used in research, one unit of Toyota Innova, with equipment measuring instruments and keys needed. In the study measurements were taken by measuring the distance of spark plug gap from 0.8 mm to the normal power, 0.6 mm the effect on power is not good because at high speed the fire jump is not large so the combustion is not perfect, and 1 mm the effect on the power The result is very low because the low and high speed sparks are unable to burn the fuel mixture. The results show differences in engine speed and power produced by the engine on a gasoline motor. To produce perfect engine power, it is necessary to do routine maintenance, especially the ignition system for spark plugs so that ignition and engine power are produced as stable as the specifications. Keywords: Spark Plug and Gap Gauge

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh pemakaian jenis busi standart, platinum, dan iridium, terhadap konsumsi bahan bakar pada sepeda motor supra x 125.Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen atau melakukan percobaan langsung. Hidupkan sepeda motor, kemudian naikkan putaran mesin sesuai dengan rancangan, Gunakan alat tachometer untuk mengukur rpm apakah sudah sesuai dengan yang ditetapkan pada penelitian tersebut. Gunakan stop watch untuk menghitung waktu pengujian dan setelah selesai lihat hasil yang telah diperoleh .Dengan melakukan pengujian tanpa beban sebanyak 3 kali dalam masing – masing percobaan yang hendak di uji.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan busi platinum dan iridium dapat mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar.
