Abstract

This study, entitled “Syair Gulung Ketapang: A Literary Study of Lévi-Strauss. Based of understanding that poetry as a cultural product, according to Lévi-Strauss, the cultural phenomenon can be seen as a linguistic phenomenon with the reason; 1) the language used by a society is regarded as a reflection of the overall culture of the people concerned; 2) because the language part of the culture, or language is one element of culture, and 3) that language is the condition of the culture. It applies qualitative descriptive method with the technique of interview data collection, recording, and literature, and then analyzed using the approach of Lévi-Strauss's structuralism. In brief, the study found that Syair Gulung Ketapang show the uniqueness of the region of origin in the lyrics, then the principle of distinctiveness is finally refers to the emergence of a particular culture. Syair Gulung Ketapang as a language product is recognized to be an important material forming the culture itself.

Abstract

This research reviews the 1965 Tragedy in the collection of short stories Mati Baik-Baik, Kawan (MBBK) by Martin Aleida using New Historicism perspective. The New Historism allows us to answer questions of textuality of history in MBBK. New Historicism has been applied as a theoretical framework asserting that literary pieces cannot be separated from political, social, and economic praxis. The theory is based on three basic assumptions: 1) that every expressive act is embedded in a network of material practices; 2) literary and nonliterary texts circulate inseparably; 3) no discourse, imaginative or archival, gives acces to unchanging truths nor expresses inalterable human nature. The research applied parrarel reading method involving literary and nonliterary texts. Any efforts to analyze the textuality of history in the research is to assess the texts in the collection of short stories MBBK through exposure of the 1965 Tragedy. The finding of research of textuality of history of the 1965 tragedy in MBBK put stress upon post impact of G30S such as human right abuse against victims.

Abstract

In order to bring the nation's children are now in a global context, many ways taken. Specifically for specialization Indonesian language and literature, one way through the movie. One relatively effective media to introduce poetry simultaneously promote literacy movements. This widescreen will extend embraced within reach far more layers of society. Call it a movie called Rest Words (2017); The film won many awards are made based on the poems of a poet who is an activist, Wiji Thukul. Through movies, poems become scattered and can be enjoyed by many people, is no longer exclusively into their own or some people as long as we observe. Stretching present diverse literary reception after the premiere of Rest Words. The actual reader Iser a term to describe people give interpretations, which to him that the work of the "experienced" that has given meaning. The willingness of social media makes this interpretation paths increasingly channeled. Researchers have never noticed, the many writings that appear as notes response after watching the movie Rest Words.
