Abstract

In vision, the eye has various refractive errors. These refractive disorders include myopia, myopia is a condition in the eye that has excessive refraction power so that parallel rays that come are refracted in front of the retina. Many factors cause myopia, one of which is close reading. Reading is an activity that requires near vision. Children who read continuously for more than 30 minutes are more likely to develop myopia. This study aims to determine the relationship between the habit of reading at close range to myopia for grade IX students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang. The results showed that there was a relationship between history of close reading and myopia. Where Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, while the strength between variables in this study is assessed using adds ratio. The OR calculation result is 0.405 because OR (0.405)

Abstract

Impaired vision makes someone have to use visual aids so that vision becomes clear. Various ways are done by people, such as using glasses, contact lenses and even lasik surgery. The addition of blue cut lenses to glasses is generally used to help human vision against eye weakness due to nearsightedness or other visual reasons and protect the eyes from UV rays. The research objectives were (1) to determine the effect of using blue cut lenses on the comfort of wearing glasses in West Pasaman optics. (2) To determine the advantages of blue cut lenses on eye health for eyeglass users at Optic Zal Pondok Padang. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative, the research process was carried out by interviewing by distributing questionnaires, this study aims to obtain an overview of the effect of using blue cut lenses on the comfort of wearing glasses in West Pasaman Jaya optics. The population in this study were all patients at an early age who experienced refractive errors in the study, amounting to 30 people. Considering the population under study was less than 100 people, the sample in this study were all consumers of Jaya Pasaman Barat optics totaling 30 people. The study was conducted on early age patients at Optik Jaya Pasaman Barat. The results showed that the respondents that 61.7% of the respondents know the effect of wearing blue cut lenses on the comfort of wearing glasses, this is because they do not know the impact of UV rays on eye health and 60.1% of blue cut lenses have the advantage of maintaining eye health. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that as much as 61.7% response to know the effect of using blue cut lenses on the comfort of wearing glasses in West Pasaman Jaya optics. This is due to the lack of knowledge of respondents about the impact of blue light on eye health. Based on the results of the research the effect of using blue cut lenses on the comfort of wearing glasses in West Pasaman optics, the results showed that as many as 60.7% of respondents knew the advantages of blue cut lenses and it was suggested to the public that when dealing directly with patients, they must wear anti-radiation lenses that are familiar with blueray lenses.

Abstract

This article discusses the impact of using and maintaining soft contact lenses at Optik Mandiri Padang, the use of contact lenses has many negative impacts that users need to be aware of, especially if they do not follow the usage rules. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all patients wearing soft contact lenses during the study. Sampling in this study is a total sampling technique. The data were collected through a questionnaire, then the data were discussed in accordance with the theory proposed in the literature review. The results showed that respondents did not understand the impact of improper use and care of soft contact lenses, this can be seen as many as 14 respondents (46.7%) knew about the correct use and care of soft contact lenses (soft lenses) for eye health and 16 respondents (53.3%) do not know about the correct way to use and care for soft contact lenses for eye health, 13 respondents (43.3%) know about the impact of wearing and caring for soft contact lenses (soft lenses) that are incompatible with standard and as many as 17 respondents (56.7%) do not know about the impact of wearing and caring for soft contact lenses (soft lenses) that are not in accordance with standards, 11 respondents (36.7%) know about the handling of the use and care of soft contact lenses ( contact lenses) and as many as 19 respondents (63.3%) did not know about the handling of the use and care of soft contact lenses (soft lenses. Based on the results of this study, there are several Several suggestions were conveyed, namely for the public when wearing and caring for contact lenses must pay more attention to proper use and care so as not to have an impact on eye health, RO provides information to patients about how to use and care for soft contact lenses (soft lenses) that are correct for health eyes and provide information about the impact of wearing and caring for soft contact lenses (soft lenses) that are not in accordance with standards.

Abstract

Cataract is a disease that has not found a cure. Cataract is the loss of transparency from the focusing lens in the lens or crystalline eye which is located just behind the colored iris and can only be seen through the pupil. Cataracts, which are the main cause of reduced vision in the world, are estimated to have reached 17 million people with cataract blindness in the world today and will increase to 40 million in 2020. The purpose of this study is (1) to determine the obstacles encountered in refractive examination in cataract sufferers. at Optik Karunia PasarRaya Padang., (2) to find out how to check refraction in cataract patients in Jaya Optical. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative, the research process is carried out through interviews by distributing questionnaires, this study aims to obtain an overview of the refractive examination for optical cataract sufferers in Jaya. The population in this study were all cataract patients who wore glasses. Considering the population under study was less than 100 people, the sample in this study were all cataract sufferers who wore glasses totaling 30 people. The research was conducted on patients suffering from cataracts in Jaya optical. The results showed that the respondents that 30 respondents (100%) felt problems in the refractive examination, that as many as 30 respondents (100%) felt easily dazzled by light, 30 respondents (100%) felt chaotic vision at night, 17 respondents (56 , 7%) felt good refraction examination in cataract patients and as many as 13 respondents (43.3%) stated that they did not feel good refraction examination in cataract patients at Jaya Optical, 22 respondents (73.3%) were asked about eye health and as many as 8 respondents (26.7%) said they were not asked about eye health and 30 respondents (100%) stated that their eyesight was better after being given glasses. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that 30 respondents (100%) who felt constraints on the refractive examination, 17 respondents (56.7%) felt good refraction examination in cataract patients and as many as 13 respondents (43.3%) stated that they did not feel the refractive examination. which is good for cataract sufferers at Optik Karunia Pasar Raya. This also illustrates that there is a need for evaluation in terms of service to patients, in order to improve the quality and effectiveness of services provided to patients.
